Hi Ppl

Just a word of warning .... if you are looking at buying an Asus MB with the x58 chipset for the 1366SKT then DO NOT GET a Corsair TX950w PSU ....

They are not compatable with each other.... both Asus and Corsair knows about this issue.... I only found ou the hardway.

Got my self a whole new rig started installing windows 7 Pro x64, and after the install windows would just hang. At first I thought it was the OS so I tried my old Win XP same thing, then I Installed Ubuntu.... also just hanged.

I went on the net and found posts stating that there are issues between the MB and the PSU ...
Bull #@$@ ... I thought ... well after desperation I took my old 650W no name brand psu and guess what In 7 x64 installed just fine and worked .... so I took the corsair back and got a Zalman 1000w

Cheerio:D

Geesh dude I find this VERY hard to believe. Was it not maybe a single faulty PSU that you had? A PSU is either compatible completely or not at all. It either works or it doesn't. There's no way your motherboard is going to "know" the difference between a Corsair PSU and something else. They are not intelligent hardware parts...well...not on THAT level anyways.

How strange is that. What do you mean by "compatibile" how do they "know" that they dont mix?

1000 PSU woah, thats like a kilawatt lol.

That is really weird. I'm thinking its more likely the PSU was faulty, I've never even heard of a power supply being incompatible!

Well thats just it I would agree that it sounds like a faulty PSU, but I tested it on my wifes PC which was just a Intel P4 with a Asus MB and running XP,
No issues .... but the web is full of the same issue I would have never believed it if I did not experienced it my self, or maybe it's an entire batch :

This is a response from corsair :
"We are currently investigating the issue with Asus, but at this point we have not been able to duplicate any problems."

Dude...you take the award for the weirdest PC Issue I've ever heard of. I'll definitely remember this one.

Yeah a friend of mine experienced similar issue with a corsair 850w/asus mobo or something like that.
