In terms of the petrol, that depends on what your fuel consumption is.
Google maps says it's 621 km from Pta to Dbn
If you get say 8l/100km (assumption), it should take about 43.5l to get to Dbn.
The price of petrol is a little cheaper at the coast, and I'm not sure what the price is at the moment, but it's somewhere around R12/l
That means petrol will cost more or less R521 each way.
Add R174 for toll fees, and it's R695 each way, and it's R1390 there and back.
It should be about R1000 +- 1 way if you take in to account type of car, traffic jams (and there WILL be), fast food, toll gates, route, total weight amount of passangers in the car(suprisingly that wasn't a joke) and so forth
O that is nice. My friend says we must go like for a weekend or so to durban, and he says it will be cheap, looks like its not so cheap at all. Flying will be better then driving

It'll cost more for two people to fly that to share the cost of driving, but you also get to save a lot of time that you would spend driving if you fly. So it makes sense if you're just going for a weekend because you spend half the day driving each way, and only a day or so actually in Dbn.
