Hey Guys..
I had a previous thread where I asked about which case to get. I eventually settled on NZXT Phantom black full tower and I'm very happy I did,,
However,, After researching a few cpu coolers I decided on a Cooler Master 212 Evo, Great value for money. I just assumed that anything will fit in my new case=)) well it does fit but with only about 20mm clearance between top of cooler and side panel, I do not have enough space to mount 200mm fan. I really want this fan there as it will also pump fresh air over my card.
So a bit more searching and the zalman cnps 7X LED came up. Good little cooler which will give me the clearance I need. It seems that this cooler is off the performance of the 212 by a few degrees but my thinking is that the 200mm fan in place blowing cool air directly onto it will also help improve the cooling, am I correct?
I am not into overclocking but what type of speed etc could I safely and cooly take my cpu to with this cooler? I have an i5 2500k.
The local pc shop are prepared to do a straight swop for me and I'm really wanting it so I can mount the side fan. Unless of course anyone here can give me any viable reason to avoid it..
My cpu clearance is 180mm,, my math is I need a cooler with height less than 150mm to mount 200mm fan on panel,, any other coolers which can be recommended over the little zalman? Thanks,,
