Crytek accused of mistreating staff like “disposable pieces of meat”

Last I checked - every company I have EVER worked at/for/with, treats ALL of it's employees like disposable dogshit generators.

I really don't see why this is newsworthy or interesting

I think you've worked at some pretty dodgy places then.

I think it depends on where you work at. I've had some other run where I am respected but I also had jobs where I was treated that way, so I understand the sentiment. Furthermore, people don't usually speak out either out of fear or simply to just go quietly about the situation and escape.

I don't particularly think this is a shocking revelation, but someone definitely has to speak up. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

Got to love sensationalism ;)

However I've (and we all) had to work a few jobs that weren't so nice. We get a chance to be at that one place that treats you not well, but it doesn't mean you have to stay there forever or not look for a better job...

I know that it's nothing out of the ordinary to get shitty treatment at work, but whenever I see these articles it always give me a bit of a shock.
I guess I just take it for granted, that these guys are game devs. so they must be having a blast at work.

Well - taken historically in 2 categories.

Programmers have never really had the sweet life. Locked in a broom closet with no lights with nothing but your PC and coding. They slip a slice of pizza under the door every other day just to make sure you stay alive. (Yes I'm exxagerating...)

Artists of all kinds and calibers have also always lived a hard life. Most great artists in history died penniless and drunk...

Put the two together and I wouldn't exactly expect paradise at the workplace tbh.
