Css

Consider yourselves shunned. :P

But seriously, though, I've been meaning to ask CSS players for a while now, what is the lure of CSS? And this is a serious question, I'm not trying to mock anyone or anything. Why do you go back to it year after year? I mean, there's a lot of other awesome MP games that comes out every year, and they gain followings and die off as fast as they come, yet the Counter-Strike fanbase always remains constant. People don't just keep playing a game for the sake of it, there must be a specific reason why it's still as popular as it was five years ago. Is it the fact that in CSS it's just you, the gun and your enemies? No perks, no unlocks, nothing.

Why do YOU, personally, keep playing it?

I'm wondering as well. I played it many years ago, and now I see that many people still play it almost every day. Thinking of buying it actually...

It's a very simplistic FPS. There's none of the fancy bullshit that are in most FPS MP games and I believe this is what creates such a prospering gameplay experience. I play almost every day still, and when the normal CSS gets boring I enjoy playing the surf mod as well.

It's simple.
Kill. Get Cash. Kill. Buy AWP. Kill. Profit?

That aside I had CSS since Half-Life 2 came out, got it in the box, racked up a good few 100 hours of it, sill play every now and then. :)

It was the first game I played online. Ever :D. The first time I had ADSL which was about 7 or so years ago, a friend of mine tuned me to come play CSS online with him. I had some seriously good times with that game, but that was before the "make-over". When it was still the older version of CSS.

I played that game for 5 years and I must say the best thing about it was all the friends that I made over the years. I will always remember it as my introduction to online gaming. I'm still friends with some of the guys I met 7 years ago. The fun thing about it was talking kak and playing for fun, mostly. We had some epic laughs playing that game :P.

The only lame thing about the local community is that they only play on one map, dust2, over and over again, 24/7/365. That got seriously boring after a while and when BC2 came out, I straight up left CSS and never went back.

I still enjoy it play often online, what makes it more fun is you playing against South Africans and all talking noncense...its addictive

I started playing CS back in the beta versions and prefer 1.6 over source. It's a very precise game that incorporates team elements very well. A lot of these new games just don't feel as fluid to me either.

i just cant explain it, it is just that there is always just good fun in playing it, and the surf is alot of fun
