Cybernet!

I always saw their top 10 games list at the end (which tomb raider was owning), cause I was tuning in to watch Reboot! Now that rocked!!

I was tempted to enter this competition that is until I saw this thread and nostalgia hit me in spades, if anything about gaming is worth remembering it is Cybernet! Like many others I was captivated by Lucy Longhurst's voice but I also remember thoroughly enjoying the electronic music they used in the show, back then trance was just emerging and this show often played some wicked tunes in the background of game reviews and such. One of which was a remix of ATB's 9PM Till I come or was it Don't Stop? Either way such blissful memories, thanks MalicE. :)

PS: Relive the nostalgia and watch reruns of Cybernet now on Youtube:

Man I remember watching this show religiously with a tear in my eye knowing that I would be able to play most of the games. I remember they also used to tell you about the easter eggs in the games and cheat codes :X

Last year I bought Pandemonium (it was in the bargain bin at Checkers) just because I still had the fond memory of seeing it on Cybernet, a lot, and they ranted about it and I remembered how I wished I could play it... I should have rather let it stay just that, a memory

I never watched this show before, but back in 2007-2009 when I had DSTV there was a gaming show on a channel called GO! I'm not sure if the show or even the channel still exists, but if anyone still remembers the show, can you please tell me the name

I think the show you're talking about was The Verge. saw a couple of eps, was ok, but no contest to what Cybernet was

yes, it was The Verge, or Playr, not sure which one was first. But I think I watched like 5 minutes of it and changed the channel. The format sucked and those bloody annoying SMS Lines.... Cybernet was still the best one ever!

BUT! Do you remember there was another game show, YEARS ago, where a kid sat in his moms basement and reviewed games. Cant remember the name, it showed on KTV (if KTV even existed at that stage...). He used to review the old 8bit consoles etc etc. I remember he always wore flannel shirts....

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm brain working overtime .... memories .... trying to surface.....

If it's the same one I am thinking of, it wasn't so much a review show just had the dude playing games and also tied into an animated show. Dammit can't remember the name. Had like neon colours and stuff everywhere?

THE POWER TEAM! with Johnny Arcade that did the game reviews somewhere in the middle of the cartoon

Kids today don't have privileges like Cybernet today like we had back in the good'ol days

We were the lucky generation

Yes! I'm pretty sure it was Playr! Thanks, that would've driven me crazy:) The format did kinda suck and I knew a bit more about games than the people on the show did, but it was the only one on tv that I watched at the time, so I just continued watching

Judging by how many posts there are about this show, I'm damn jealous about this show:cry: Damnit, why wasn't I born earlier??!
