Cybersmart for gaming

Hi Guys, I use Cybersmart as my ISP. I have experienced a lot of lag recently when playing on xbox live. Is this a common problem with Cybersmart? Thanks

It shouldn't be, Cybersmart accounts are unshaped so gaming shouldn't be bad.
Maybe it has to do with the XBL updates.

That is the thing, it was before the updates. During the day the lag is to much to play, it only got better after 7pm over the last week. What ISP do you have?

I have an SAOL account which is part of the Cybersmart group and it is completely unusable for gaming.

Have you tried contacting Cybersmart support? They used to be quite helpful when I was still with them.

Cybersmart has the worst support of any company that I have ever encountered. Their site is useless, I just upgraded from 384k to 1Meg, and the confirmation I got was "request sent", not even an "are you sure" or anything.... They need to spend some serious time and money to get these things in order.

Yet, I am still with them for my ADSL, because the prices are good and when ADSL works, it just works(this is not what makes a good company, it's how they handle their crises, which they clearly cannot)...

Thanks a lot. I will appreciate it. I am struggeling to play full games (Rugby Challange) as people quit on me due to the lagging.

Might be the game, as I have tried to find someone to play against since the release of Rugby Challenge. Think I found one person, but didn't progress after finding that person (some Australian dude). haven't had that game in my console for about 2 months though.

I'm leaving Cybersmart at the end of the month. Moving over to Afrihost. Purely based on customer support experieces.

No problem with CS. Downloading 53gig a month on their NightRider 1 meg line. 15gig 'cap' more than enough for online gaming.

Cant agree with that. I've used their 10gig account for years now on my 384k line and NEVER had a problem.
Recently upgraded to a 1meg line and got myself an uncapped account so moved away from them but i am 100% sure their lines are fine for gaming.

The lag for my gaming is still bad. According to Cybersmart they are fixing a problem that should improve the speed. I really hope so...
