Dark Souls 3

Haven't managed to kill the Curse-Rotted Greatwood yet, but I've only tried twice. Both times I destroyed the "eggs" on his front, so we fall down and then I destroy some more "eggs", but after that I am not sure what to aim for, because wherever I have hit him so far he doesn't take damage.

More tries required I suppose. I do find the adds quite annoying though.

Let me know if you'd like a summon. I'm a bit behind you but not too far off. I did a little bit in the Undead Settlement. Playing with a rapier now and it's quite a change. With the thrusting attack, as soon as there's more than one enemy then you can't hit them all at once like with a normal weapon. Also I have to stop blocking in order to hit properly. Otherwise the shield stays up and the player makes this short attack. That took me quite a while to get used to. I'm so used to fighting with a mace that I have to really concentrate to fight correctly with the rapier.

Also, you won't get normal non npc summons while the password is still active. So you can take that off if you'd like to summon other people.

Ah oky. I'm almost never Embered'd though, because as soon as I ember up I die. Not using them is stupid obviously, but yeah. I especially don't want to waste them for a boss fight I have yet to figure out.

Is there a place to farm embers (like there was in DS1 where you could farm humanties)?

I think you get an ember when you help someone beat a boss. In my first playthrough I helped people 30 times with that first boss in order to get sun medals. It set me up with a lot of embers so I played the most of the game while embered.

Hmmm. Should perhaps consider doing that. If you put down a "summon me" marker, does it stay for quite a while and you can go on your jolly way to do something else, or do you have to wait around in the area to be summoned?

Solitude, now that I saw your post about the Scorpio it reminded me.

I have had several instances where the game lags/frame skips/feel sluggish/low fps (whatever you want to call it). It happened even more often when we were playing coop. I must say it is quite annoying and unexpected to see lag on the console.

You can go on your merry way. If you do get too far or move to a different area then it will disappear but it will let you know. I'm sure it should be possible to farm embers. Haven't checked it out however.

Yep, it's very unfortunate. I know BeoTeK complained of the same thing. There's one boss fight in the late game where I had it very bad.
Spoiler: show
That armour thing that you fight. Had terrible slowdowns there.

Even worse, this weekend I was playing Dragon Age Inquisition's DLC and every now and then it would just crash. Haven't had that before.

Yeah, you'll get noticable lag especially if you have summons in your world. More so the more there are, yet some areas seem more affected than others. The biggest drop in frames for me came from Pontiff Sullyvahn and Aldrich.

Mother of god i have done it. I am ruler over all. (Except those fucking angels on the roof. Fuck them.)

I see the last part of the DLC update just went live. 12 hours to go before the launch.
I'm super excited!!! :D

I hope it's more content rich than Ashes was, only thing I loved about ashes was the final boss fight.

I just finished the DLC today.

It is miles better than Ashes. The boss fights are insane, and the new areas and level design are incredibly well done and thought out.

!!SPOILERS!!

It was definitely better than Ashes. I do however feel a bit meh about the overall ending of it. There are still so many unanswered questions. I also hate the fact that the DLC has no actual effect on the games 4 different endings.

The one thing that bugged me was the Dragon fight, although the fight was difficult, it wasn't enjoyable due to the STUPID camera angles when trying to hit the boss. I died more to him than any other boss in the game xD Even Gael wasn't as difficult and he was the final boss lol

It's definitely my favorite DS game and I'm sad too see it go :(

Now I'm waiting for "The Surge" to release.

I was just sitting here and looking through the games I played so far this year and I saw Dark Souls 3 and watched some trailers for it again. Man I love this game. Anyone who hasn't played it yet should really try it out. It's in my top 5 games of all time and it's just amazing.

Really? When will this be released?

I'm enjoying DS3, might even consider playing Bloodborne.

lol, I was joking, also said that a really long time ago. I think even possibly when dark souls 3 had just been released. As far as i know there isn't actually going to be another one.

Thats quite disappointing tbh. I'm finding this game very addictive even though its difficult, and I'm a complete noob as this is my first Souls game. Right now I just want to get home and play DS3.

I've always wondered why there is so much praise for this game even though its a niche market. Its definitely not your ordinary hack-and-slash game. Timing is everything . . . concentration is mandatory . . . getting to know your enemy's movement is important to survive.

Love it!
