Dark Souls

The Demon in 'Depths' was the easiest Boss I encountered.

*Easy to outrun
*Movements are predictable

The 'Bell Gargoyles' properly pissed me off - but I killed them eventually.

The 'Capra Demon' took a good number of tries - but, I eventually killed off that MF(er).

Struggling to defeat 'Executioner Smough and Dragon Slayer Ornstein' with my first character. Killed 'em with second character after a NUMBER of attempts.

Have serious difficulty killing the 'Firesage Demon' with my character.

Because of walkthroughs, I killed the 'Taurus Demon' in the 2nd or 3rd attempt. Trolling it while tossing 'Fire bombs' at it.

Dude if you find the chest that the black swords man is guarding you get spark dust and that chows the demons life :D
I killed him in a few seconds.

I got some other stuff that electrifies my blade, but I'm running out fast :(

Dark Souls was awesome, but Demon's Souls was better imo.

Dark Souls felt easier and too mainstream. I preferred the layout of the levels in Demon's Souls, I played 7NG+ games back then, I was addicted. I couldn't even finish Dark Souls due to boredom :(

Dark Souls II looks epic though though, they've finally added in a class that fits my play style :D. Plus playing co-op with a mate in Party Chat (When it lands on PS4) will make the game so much more enjoyable I cannot fathom why they won't allow mics and playing with mates at any time

You can co-op in Dark Souls 1 as well, and we just use mumble :)

i never completed Dark Souls the first time around. Booted it up and loaded my level 51 Pyro. damn, i had played for 41 hours! but i can't remember a damn thing :( don't remember the buttons or weapons or the convoluted menu and weapon swapping commands. its all a fuzzy haze. *sigh* what a waste. DS is not the kind of game that you can pick up and play after having ignored it for months. If i try and play with that Pyro now, ad the point in the game where I am, i will get BROKEN

Yeah got the same sms about the release date a few minutes ago. I don't know if I should be happy or sad, lol. Will probably end up getting the game later only since I want to buy inFAMOUS at the end of March and I won't have enough dough to get both.

I've got it on 360 and will keep this in mind! I am on 2nd playthrough so helping with bosses will help :D

Awesome, just let me know - I can help you get most of the unique weapon achievements in the least, I have them all.

Yeah, I do know. But there was an issue of being on different servers to your friend, it was like they wanted you not to co-op with your mates. We used Skype.

Yeah you have to drop your summoning stone every 10 seconds till you drop it on your mates server. Bit of a schlep unfortunately

Dark Souls 2 engine was designed with next gen in mind.

The new engine for Dark Souls II was created with next-gen consoles in mind. During a trip to From Software’s office in Tokyo that resulted in our Making Dark Souls 2 feature, the game’s programmers explained to IGN how Dark Souls II is the studio’s first step into the future of console and PC gaming.

“We always had in mind the next generation, such as DirectX11 and next generation hardware when creating our technology, and also challenged ourselves as programmers to simultaneously create for the new generation,” explained Ando-san, a programmer at From Software.

While the Souls series is known for its nightmarish creatures and scenarios, the developers still wanted to keep the design somewhat grounded in reality. As he explained, “The thing we prioritized when re-creating our engine was, as a concept, taking the graphics to a more photo-realistic look, and in order to fulfill this, we had decided to discard our old engine and create a new one.”

Ando elaborated, “Some of the things we prioritized when creating the engine was actively take in new technology such as deferred rendering and physical-based rendering to increase the flexibility of graphic creation, and really pursue the photo-realism and lighting.”
