Dark Souls

Dark Souls isn't meant to hold your hand and this is what puts a lot of people off. It will allow you to go to fairly end game locations from the get go. The way you want to go is from Firelink Shrine bonfire, go past the well and up the stairs toward the aqueduct and into Undead Burg.

I don't expect it to hold my hand, I just want it to give me some idea of what I'm actually supposed to do. An objective or SOMETHING.

Sorry, I never meant to sound as though I was playing you down. But yes, DS doesn't give such luxuries as objectives. You're meant to explore and experience for ones self.

And what would "finished" be in this game? When everything is dead?

when all the bosses are dead :P

Just killed the moonlig butterfly(or was it moth)

I am not getting past the fireboming idiots in undead burg just after the first bonfire. I get the three knights easily and then I start dying after the everything goes pearshaped staircase :p

Ugh all of you make me want to play it again. But I can't right now. Not enough time and games on the backlog.

Eugene, think of the game as what would you have done if instead of playing the game, you were actually there. I don't normally like difficult games but Dark Souls felt more rewarding than any other game I've ever played.

Maybe we should try this Steam streaming stuff, connect to me and we can go through some of it.

But like I said the other evening over TS, you should be familiar with "pulling". Get attention of one of them and dispatch them one by one.
Shield is you best friend. Learn to block, and learn their attacks, then move in and get one hit then back off and block again.

Did you request the aid of Witch Beatrice ?

No. I haven't requested any help for any bosses. I am always hollowed. :p Is it like the second one when you have to be human to call in aid?(I never really did)
I killed the hydra today.

Lol I'm coping with the game mechanics

Are you using a contoller?

Also every enemy has a pattern. Just need to learn them. I tend to use a shield and circle them while they attack then I strike than repeat.

Finally got my game updated to the steamworks version, but it seems I have lost my character as well. I'm not sure if I'll still finish it now, I was in Anor Londo and I don't know if I want to go through all of it again. I just bought DS2 from the Steam sale as well, so I'm guessing as soon as DS1 pisses me off I'll just play DS2 instead.

Managed to find my save file and manually import it to the new steamworks version. Only problem is I'm not where I remember being and I'm not entirely sure what I have or haven't done yet.

@BeoTek. Since you are the local DS expert. :p Do you know of any way to see which bosses you have killed so far? I'm currently at Sen's Fortress with a SL81 character but I have no idea what I have done and where I have been ao far and I really don't want to start over. I just wanna finish the game and move on to DS2.

Nope Wlad, sorry. Your beat bet is memory. Otherwise the quickest way to check is to head to the Boss "arena" and if you don't trigger the event they're defeated. Alternatively, all bosses have fog gates, if it's not there they've been defeated.

Also, if you've been to Anor Londo, depending on how far you got you should be able to warp between bonfires. Did you defeat Ornstein and Smough? Did you meet Gwenevere?

Ah Dark Souls.

One of my favourite games to date. I bought the game on screenshots alone. Applied DSFix and bought a controller.

A fight I really didn't enjoy was against Sif. The story behind it and why she was where she was (trying not to post spoilers).

Yes, actually a heart wrenching fight, especially second time around.
