Dark Souls

OMG! Just watched a under 1 hour speed run! Insane stuff! :-0

No way dude. I want to watch that. But I want to finish first. It sounds too good to be true. Freaks.

Just had an epic run through the depths. Got everything done in one run and now I'm back at the blacksmith with 30 000 souls. Booya.

Anal Londo is pissing me off now. Those 2 black knights with their bows are FUBAR

Yeah they're quite annoying. You need to sprint up there quick, and take the one on the right first.

Even with Havel's Shield, I get kicked back like mad.

But that bow, that bow does some damage. Just can't get the Hellkite because of its healing.

Here's a question for the more veteraned of you.

Why do some classes start on different soul levels, and what are the benefits/downfalls of this?

I so desperately want to watch a speed run. But I won't do it. Need to finish first... Must resist...

Yeah, trust me! Don't spoil it for yourself. Enjoy the game first, then learn the shortcuts, bad habits, etc.
I don't like that style of playing, but once you've mastered the game enough times I can see why people do it, to create another challenge.

Yeah its a kak way to play the game. Watched a demon souls run and of course the guy just ran past everything. Speed runs are amazing tho. Watched a skyrim one done in under a hour. Those people have way to much time.

I could be wrong but I think it has to do with the distribution of stat points. Classes that start at a lower level have less starting stat points and vice versa. Doesnt affect the game at all, but the ones that start lower can obviously be customised more. Every time you increase a stat your soul level goes up by one. Not sure about Dark Souls, but in Demon's Souls if you raise all your stats to 99 ypur SL would be 712. The furthest I got was SL384 before losing my save.

Do you want to know how to beat them without even breaking a sweat? You can then basically walk up there if you want.

I got my squire to take care of him so all the short cuts are open now :D

tonight I'll probably be tackling ornstein and smough again, if there are no distractions...

oh man... this thread is making me wanna play DS all over again. Could also be due to all the content I've been watching on it lately. I am finding the lore and all the talks about it extremely interesting. It's amazing how well this game is developed and how open it is. For a game this old and still have such a massive following and able to still talk about the stuff and find new things etc. Really makes me think....
