DayZ Discussion Thread.

If your previous posts in the thread were not intended to be as hostile as they come across, then my apologies. It just sounded a lot more like an attack than a warning.

As I said earlier in this thread, I don't own the NAG server. NAG owns it, and I'd have to clear it with Geo first. I also said the risk of getting the server IP blacklisted is not worth switching to a hive server. Said that right here.

Also, sarcasm and emotion go hand in hand. Sarcasm is just about always influenced by emotion, be it annoyance, boredom, irritation, anger, etc. :p

Just had an intense shootout between 2 groups on ZA2.

Okes were waiting for us in the air field, took out 2 of us, we took 2 of them out. Another buddy and I waited for the rest of our team to come back for their bodies. They were telling us to come out of the hangers, we just kept quiet. Then I started getting shot at, took out 2 more of them, eventually they killed us 2.

Buggers didn't even identify themselves as friendly. They ambushed us f***ed up.

Was 4 of us against at least 5 of them. Not sure how many of them there was though.

They were :

e1b0t
gr8-white
shodan

Anyone know them?

Well done to the okes for DC'ing (3 of them mashed Alt-F4) at Airfield near the chopper crash, after shooting at us then DC'ing when we shot back. Well done.

Jesus, that's the most despicable anyone can do aside from hacking, imo. It's bad enough that some okes DC, but if they initiate the fight and then DC, that's just low.

Also, just thought I'd let you guys know BattlEye has rolled out a mass hacker ban last night. Didn't catch all the hackers out there, but there should be more banwaves rolling out soon. Caught a few ZA regulars who I really wasn't expecting to be hackers, though.

Whatever you do, DO NOT UPDATE TO BETA 95777 OR HIGHER. Right now it seems running this beta patch is causing people to get global banned.

BattlEye is such a piece of shit.

Darn, Luckily I didn't play tonight, actually just spawned in to see if our gear was still intact, and left, I'm on 98519 currently. I will roll back, shot for the headsup.

Well, seems there's a lot of speculation but no definite reason for why innocent people are for some reason getting BattlEye banned. Busy downloading the game now to make sure I haven't been BE banned. :/

Don't they leave behind a 'ghost' that can be killed? You know the normal wait 20 seconds to log out or something.

I have not worked out when a "ghost" stays behind or not, seeing that we tend to mostly avoid any confrontations with our style of play. Since I started playing DayZ I have not even killed 10 People, but have helped hundreds :D

They haven't done a log out timer yet, but they really really need to put one in. At least 30 seconds to a minute >_< People that log out are such cowards. The group I was with the other day at Stary came under fire from a silenced weapon in the middle of the night. One member got a broken leg and crawled away and another dropped dead. I camped behind a rock and 5 minutes later there creeps the enemy guy in some bushes. I unload half a clip into this guy and he promptly disappears. Not cool at all.

Who else here shakes with adrenaline after player engagements? :D The adrenaline rush of combat in this game keeps me coming back for more and more.

The devs wanted to implement such a feature, but they couldn't get it working correctly on the ArmA 2 engine. Hopefully it'll work on the ArmA 3 engine.

The Hive is going to start tracking connects/diconnects, though.

I have spent all my time so far on the coast, loads of players and danger. Been thinking about heading in land for some R&R. Are the main concentration of players around Cherno and Elektro?

There are hotspot towns inland as well. Your approach to a town counts for a lot when it comes to survival against players. Always scout a town out from a distance and wait a few minutes before entering, most players give themselves away by shooting aggro zeds. When approaching a town, always look to see if Zeds have spawned previously (when a player is close they spawn). If they are far spread it means someone else has been there or is currently there.

Thanks, I am generally very cautious (which is why I am still alive) but my character is getting hungry and I need to eat! :)

It's really hard to say, to be honest. SO far I've found that Elektro seems to be where even gets shot. Cherno is where everyone who are too scared of Elektro go, and then they also get shot. I'd say population should be more or less the same for the most part.
