That's like asking: "Which do you prefer: Lamborghini or Porsche?". Each has its own unique way of being better or worse.

Anyway, I like both - but, will vote on the poll when I'm ready with an answer.

In light of the coolest superhero poll, which do you prefer and why?

Did you just start another vs thread:eek:?

Anywho, I'm all about DC (look at my avatar :D) because if there is one thing I feel they do exceptionally well, it's character development. Each time they handle a character, whether Superhero or Villain, you will get invested. And seriously, the DC Villains and anti-heroes? There have been so many writers who produce pure gold with them. Granted, I also feel Marvel has more fun with their characters.

Voting both is an option :)

I had an argu... discussion over the weekend about this... my SO was DC and i am Marvel... so i wanted to prove a point :) for either side....

Marvel, they have way more interesting characters than DC. The X-Men, The Avengers etc. The only DC character I even remotely like is Batman.

DC fanboi, although I do have a lot of Marvel stuff as well, I started off on DC way back in the 80's and got stuck on them. My Grandma bought me my first comic (bless her soul) for I think 20c way back then.

Either / both, but I voted DC because I've been reading some of the New 52 comics, and I've really been impressed so far (with how they handle crossovers between two different comic lines etc.

Although, this is unfair towards Marvel, because I haven't started reading them yet. I just can't decide which comics to follow, as there are a whole bunch of different X-Men Comics, and a bunch of different Avengers.. I'm still a bit confused about how to approach them.

Love Batman, but Spider-Man is tied with him for me..

I'll have to go with Marvel. DC does have some good characters but in general the Marvel characters have more depth. Maybe because their flaws are that much more obvious.

Which is why I love Spidey.

Marvel is doing a fantastic job with their movies recently too. Putting DC to shame, but I hope DC will at least start to get it right with Dawn of Justice.

Although, DC TV shows have been more present than Marvel. Loving Arrow and Flash atm, still undecided on Gotham.

Agents of Shield is pretty good, and I do watch it every week, but it always feels as if they could do more.

I still have to watch Flash, but Gotham got me hooked already.

Marvel. The only DC character I really like is Lobo.

Now there is one that should have been on the list for coolest superhero. Technically not super or a hero, but still...

None of the above.

I do like some Vertigo (Sandman & Black Orchid) work and that's is about as close as I can get to DC but my heroes are found in the likes of say Dark Horse and so on.

I was always a Marvelite as a kid. I loved everything Marvel and the X-men are stilly my favourite super-heroes of all. I loved the idealism that they represented and I always felt that Marvel presented mature themes in not-too-cringeworthy ways.

However, since Grant Morrison finished his historic run on the New X-men about ten years ago, the Marvel writing standard has fallen to all-time lows. This was a direct result of Marvel presenting their best writers with a take-it-or-leave-it package, the writers deciding to leave it, and then being welcomed with open arms by DC (and some other publishers). Good job Marvel.

Since then, DC has consistently put out quality stories by quality writers while Marvel re-hashes and recycles old cliches. Because of this, I voted DC.

Vertigo strictly counts as DC as they are owned by the company. Another reason my vote went to them. Preacher is the best comic ever written.

Another great DC character (kinda) is Spider Jerusalem from Transmetropolitan.

So this seems to be pretty close so far... I think Marvel has the better characters but DC does have a few decent ones to...
