Dead Space 2 PC Not Planned

yay... another pc vs console debate...

honestly people dead horse being pile drived never mind beaten...

in all this crap i find it very funny. it was a console that nearly killed gaming entirely in the 80's (atari 2600) and it took the pc to get gaming going again. now it's a combination of STUPID attitudes that will kill it if people don't wake up.

honestly if i could i'd shoot every damn pirate i can find

Mm, as I recall, the PC port of Dead Space had a lot of control issues. It might've impacted sales, it might not. It's a bit of an unusual move developing for Xbox without developing a PC port, but I guess they've done their maths.

Having said that, I shouldn't be surprised to see a PC port a little after the console release regardless.

It's too bad if that was the reason, since the control issues were simply a badly implemented in game vsync that botched the mouse movement, but was easily remedied by turning it off. After that is was quite a good PC port.

Not reeeeeeaaaaaally, though.

As for PCs versus consoles, there is no real debate. Just own all of them, shut up, and play some games. ;P

@ Isengard: Oh, really? I've a friend playing Dead Space on PC at the moment, and complaining about the controls. I'll pass that along to him.

bought the first one... was worth the R350, excellent graphics and atmosphere.

very surprised to hear that it only sold 40k copies worldwide on PC? ... as much as i love the PC platform i have to admit that piracy is a serious issue. what sickens me is the people who don't ever buy a single game and are always like "ooo oooo! please loan me <insert title here> for a day so I can install and crack it!"

they're the problem... the freakin cheapskates. this is really cr@p news... this is the news that sad pandas are made of :( ....

The problem with the controls in Dead Space 1 is quite simple. It feels very funny and laggy/heavy because the in game Vsync (enabled by default) caps the frame rate to 30FPS instead of 60FPS.

Switch off Vsync, problem solved. If you get screen tearing, force Vsync through your GFX control panel.

Sure, because it's not like anyone ever owned a Magnavox Odyssey, Atari, Intellivision, NES, SNES, MegaDrive, NeoGeo, N64, PSOne, Dreamcast, PS2, or Gamecube, right?

FACT! Gaming started out on console. Gaming has always been popular on console. Gaming does not owe the PC market anything.

I totally agree with AZi, on this.

it was also a console that saved gaming in the 80's it was called a NES !

Fact of the matter is consoles made gaming mainstream, before the playstation era gaming on pc was primarily associated with nerds with thick glasses locked up in his bedroom, consoles changed the way we look at games.

Quite true, I started gaming on a console and only more recently got into PC gaming. My path of gaming went Amiga -> NES -> Sega Genesis -> SNES -> PSone -> PC -> PS2/ PC.

Why did you post this? To spark a flame war?

I have many 360 pads lying around that I could have used, my preference for shooting will likely always be a mouse unless another good pointing input device gets released. There are many people with this preference who also had this problem, so I posted the fix.
