Dead Space 3

I've now finished this on PC and I must say, I really don't get why the reception for this game is so lukewarm. The gameplay is really solid and even the scare factor is pretty much on par with Dead Space 2. I almost shat myself numerous times and there's constantly this nerve-wracking, suspenseful air about it. I haven't played co-op yet, but I reckon it will likely be a little less tense there.

The only thing I hated was that they ruined the story. Typical EA, they took a franchise filled with mystery and intrigue and turned its story into another generic sci-fi story, same as they did with ME3.

All I am going to say for now is ELEVATORS man Elevators everywhere.

I haven't finished it yet (mainly because I had to restart the game when I bought the PC version) so I can't comment on the story as of yet, but as far as everything else in your post: Agreed. Really loving every second of the game and the weapon crafting is AWESOME!

Ugh.

So was enjoying the game. Then got to the difficult ending to chapter 5. Took me a few goes to get on that train and get out of there. Then tried a side mission. Played for about 45 minutes just waiting for the autosave that never came. Near the end of it I eventually died but luckily respawned about 5 minutes back in game time. Thinking the game must have autosaved I decided to quit.

When loading later I was back at the final train scenario from an hour previous. Not only that but I now had hardly any stasis or health thanks to my loadout being depleted from attempting the final moments of the side mission.

What a screw up. I've now attempted the final train thing 5 times and keep dying and am losing my mind. So angry with the game right now. Is there a god mode? I just want to walk back to where I was with as little stress as humanly possible.

What manual save? There is no manual save (that I'm aware of). The "save and quit" in the options only saves your inventory and not your current progress in the game. So unless you see the "progress saving" in the upper right-hand corner you're probably gonna have to replay a part of the game.

By manual save, I'm talking about those save points (usually mounted on a wall).

There is no such thing is Dead Space 3 (unless I'm blind and/or stupid :p ). I even complained about it a couple of pages ago. Auto-save only.

Really? That is some bull right there. So... How often do these "Auto-save(s)" come into affect?
Which means; you have to reach a certain part in the game in order for the "Auto-save to take place?

O don't get me started on the coop where it does not save until your back on the main mission. I think me and james lost about 5 hours gameplay where it would not save after we just finished a coop mission.

The biggest problem, lost connection to EA servers.

Damn, that sucks!

Epic buzz kill!

I haven't tried it but last night when I tried again I saw a menu option to save manually. It's a bit hidden. Haven't tried it though so I might be wrong.

That only saves your inventory. If you're halfway through a side mission you're going to lose all progress on that mission. I honestly don't understand how EA let this one through. It's a major oversight.
