Dead State: The First Seven Days

Came across a mini review on a currently early access game called Dead State. It's a party-based Zombie RPG but to make it a bit different there are inter-personal politics with some cool possibilities such as the following:

After my first scavenging party to a nearby hardware store, one distraught character told me not to take her mother out on missions anymore. She’s seen so many people lose their family already, she says, and she can’t take the stress of worrying about her mom out on the road. Now I’m faced with a political choice: anger the daughter by bringing the mother with me, or calm the daughter and give up a crucial resource in the mother.

Some interesting potential if they can make it work and get the game polished.

i think the zombie genre is really getting over milked atm

And military? That has been done for decades, yet we still buy into it. Zombies have been popular since what, the 70's or so? I think it's rad man.Just need to find new ways of telling the story.

True, and I'm not the biggest Zombie fan either but I do enjoy the inter-personal politics idea - kinda like the moral choices in The Walking Dead but more open ended.

You can say that about a lot of genres. The key is in how it is handled. If it is still good, then I don't mind.
