Decent, affordable modular PSU

I've bought this 600W PSU from a certain store for under 300 bucks brand new. However, when i eventually put in my GTX 680 today and ran some performance tests the PSU seemed to be making strange noises. Add to that the fact that it's not modular and has a bunch of unused cables taking up what little space i have left in my PC-Q08 case and yeah, i'm feeling a little wary about the situation.

So now i need to know, since i'm a bit tired of researching components myself - although being OC like i am i'll probably get back to researching immediately after typing out this post...

... which is the most affordable modular 600W PSU?
Also, if possible, which is the best low profile cpu cooler. Emphasis on "low profile" since i've only got about 8-9cm to work with

I have a Cooler Master Silent Pro M 600W modular PSU. It's great, loves running big GPU's as long as you stick to one. It's got a 80% effiency rating and it's super quiet. Which I love. Goes for about R1100. I know it's not that cheap, but it's a great kit.

Silverstone PSU's are nice! And that's a nice price for it. Or you can go on carbonite and buy a decent second hand one.

Can get a Raidmax 730w Modular PSU for R950. We retail them for that price, could probably find it cheaper at your online shops.
