Decent Tablet for 2k?

Cabby I also recomend the Nexus more because with these youll have trouble trying to Root it unless its based of a major brands chipset . Price wise its ok but I have to say even if you got a samsung you wont go wrong.

+1 The tablet market is safest when you go with known brands.

My opinion: not the best specs or tablet by a long shot, which is quite obvious looking at the price. That being said, you could do a lot worse. I would rather stick to know brands like Asus or Sony if your looking for a cheaper option. And you just cannot ignore the Nexus. That is one impressive piece of kit. So spend a little more now, and get the Nexus. It will be all the money worth

Remember the 2nd gen Nexus is out now and is waaay better. Maybe wait for that though it will cost a bit...

+1 for the nexus especially if have an interest in rooting. I have been rooting for 3 yrs now and nothing is worst than not finding updates and Roms. like the guys say go for known brands and u will never go wrong. Btw does anyone know when the new nexus is coming to SA and price.

Hmm indeed it is...but even the, now "old" Nexus is a better tablet than the one linked by OP. Luckily the Android tablet market is so diverse in devices of different prices to cater for all budgets. So it comes down to the question: "Can you afford a latest and best device? No, well then have a look at all the other tablets on offer to fit your purse".
