Well, I'm going for both. Crysis 2 is a no-brainer for me and Homefront is another shooter to fulfill my intense craving for FPS games. Why the hell not? :D

So there are 2 decent shooters out this month; Crysis 2 and Homefront. Both Sci-Fi and both look promising for their own reasons. My Question is now, which one to get?

Tell us which one your getting and why.

i can only drink one glass of either milk or water... should i go with milk ? or should i go with water ?

I can't buy both this month and since I'm buying three FPS in May (Duke, Brink, F.E.A.R 2), I'll only get Crysis 2 for now. The MP looks interesting, but I'm getting it more for the SP based solely on the fact that Richard Morgan is writing the story. I have read two of his books so far and I'm busy with the third and I really enjoy his storytelling.

After the the mediocrity of FEAR 2 and the bland looking preview vids I've seen of FEAR 3 I'm going to pass.

Crysis is a hyped up benchmark that has a game included.

Homefront simply looks awesome. As for the SP being 5hrs, well that might be for these super geeks who rush through it simply to see how quickly they can finish it. I'm guessing most normal players will probably avg closer to 7-8 hours. Still not a hell of a lot, but then, most FPS bank on the MP making up the difference.

LOL, late night error. I actually really enjoyed F.E.A.R. 2. Also, I'm getting F.E.A.R. 3 more for that awesome pregnant Alma figurine and so I can play it co-op with my buddy.

Um dude, have you been following the game's news and read Wlad's posts? It is actually story driven this time, and the story is written by an actual author. It's not a benchmark game...sheesh. You are going to miss out BIG time, big time dude.

So provide me with a link to this plot? Wikipedia has about a paragraph.... its easy slapping some authors name on a game and saying "Look its got a story" Ubisoft has been doing it for years with Tom Clancy, how many of the bizillion games that carry his name do you think he had more that a fleeting involvement in? Not many id wager. I'm with sweepboi, Crysis will be playing second fiddle to Homefront.

Omega, I get your point with the Tom Clancy games, but those are games that take place in the Tom Clancy universe. As far as I'm aware he didn't actually write the story for any of them, might be wrong though. This is not the case with Richard Morgan and Crysis 2, they are not slapping his name on anything, he is actually the lead writer for the game's story and like I said he is a very good author. If you don't believe me, get yourself a copy of Altered Carbon ...

Here's a couple of links regarding Richard Morgan and his involvement with Crysis 2.

Be warned though, he doesn't have very good things to say about Halo. :p

Check out this article and this video. If you want more there's always google :D

"do you think he had more that a fleeting involvement in"

What the balls does Tom Clancy have to do with Richard Morgan writing Crysis 2's story? Lol, yes, he is actually involved, since he is writing the story. Himself. :D

LOL, he doesn't so much say the game is bad, just that it has "bullshit archetypal characters with no real emotional effect".

Ah i have read this before. I did remember some comments in regards to it being very much hyping up Crysis 2. I hope he lives up to his own hype, cant wait for next friday. And those were before Halo Reach, don't think he could say the same for Reach.
