Hey all, anyone else finding this game quite difficult? I keep coming back to the Nexus and can't make it far enough to actually progress in the game since I keep on vrekking out there ;/

LOL dude, welcome to Demon's Souls. :p You haven't seen anything yet, it only gets harder and better.

got my platinum in asian version
grinding through the usa version.. must admit its easier with a partner... in 1 week since i got it and 18 hours of play i am now level 80:D
oh if you know what you doing you wont die... that much:P

Just lots of trial and error.

Play it safe rather than sorry, and be wary whenever you meet anything new, especially bosses. Expect to die, a lot, but you will get into it. Farm in places like world 4 for souls. Once you get used to the skelies there it goes fast. Also read up online, there are a LOT of things this game does not explain to you.

I love this game because how hard and unrelenting it is. Something so exhilarating about facing the challenges in this game and overcoming them. This game is like a Thriller Horror RPG.

Still understanding what is going on with it. Once I am done with GOW3 i'll give it another go. Since you have like 1/4th of health in soul form (I think that is what they call it) it does make it quite tough. Need to try and avoid getting damage in The Boletarian Palace. Which wiki do you use tehNihilist? Using http://demonssouls.wikidot.com/ at the moment to find out what is going on.

I think its one of the best RPG's ever. Its my game of the year 2009.
Every minute you survive is a triumph, each place/area you explore is exciting and feels like a proper adventure.

It roxxors

Still deciding if I should sell it. Might need to before I smash it into pieces :p

Oi silence you!

Yeah I use that site plus the forums at places like:

Get a good build and work towards it. I found you should generally get Endurance to 40 asap, then work on other stats. This allows you to attack, block, roll, and run more. Don't go over 40 however, since it is a waste. Also get a bow ( the Composite I think it is), and upgrade it since ranged weaps are amazingly useful. Play through the first bosses in each world before you try the next ones in those worlds. Valley of Defilement is also the most rough world initially, so put that one off till you are better.

There is also the Thief's Ring in Boletarian Palace (which is kinda tricky to get to), use that ring with the Cling Ring since it makes enemies less aware of you so you can move around more freely.

There are no save points in the game anywhere, the games saves automatically every time you do something, e.g. shoot an arrow, kill an enemy, use moon grass, etc. You pretty much have to reach the end of 1-1 and kill the phalanx in order to be able to progress.

Once you kill a boss it leaves some kind of remains where you can 'teleport' back and forth from the Nexus, basically skipping the previous parts you have completed.

Play it careful in the beginning while getting used to the game. Kill the first boss asap - SPOILER (use fire: Turpentine), so you can get the Maiden to upgrade your stats. Then every time you get the reqs needed for a stat boost head back asap and upgrade. Do this until you feel more comfortable. That way you won't get so frustrated when losing souls, (later on you get used to losing souls, and don't really stress it).
