Demon's Souls PS3

I just read on vgreleases.com that Demon's Souls does not have a publisher in Europe and therefore we in South Africa will probably not get it. :( This seriously sucks as I watched a couple of trailers and this game looks awesome! I SO wanna play it.

It does have a publisher in North America and it will be released there on 6 October. Does anyone know whether American PS3 games will work on the consoles here in SA? I am new to PS3 so I have no idea whether it will work.
I am seriously considering importing this game from America if it does not get a European publisher, but I wanna know if it will work first.

*EDIT*

I just read that you can only play NTSC games on a NTSC console and this game does not have a PAL version. This totally sucks! :( :( I want this damn game, it looks AWESOME! Does anyone know if there is anything that I can do to play this game? (except getting an American PS3 console, of course)

Yes it will work :), I have region 1(US) PS3 games that work on my PAL PS3, the only thing that is region locked is DLC. You can even buy the game from Zaps http://www.zaps.co.za/index.php?pid=29774, which i'm gonna do at the end of this month :). The Demon's Souls from Zaps is the asian version. Hopes this helps.

Dude, you just made my day! :D I was gonna get Batman: Arkham Asylum when it gets released, but then I saw Demon's Souls. I am definately getting this game at the end of the month from Zaps. I cannot wait :D

Also, do you perhaps know whether this Asian version will have online functionality here in good old South Africa?

And sorry to ask, but you are absolutely certain that it will work? I don't wanna fork out my hard-earned cash for something that I can't use. I have the current 80GB PS3 (bought it almost a month ago), dunno if this makes a difference in the compatibility of imported games.

I just called Zaps and they said that they have sold a lot of copies of this game, so it should definately work. :D Yippee!!!! I can't wait for payday! :D
 
First time I hear of this game :o I think i've been so engrossed waitin for Uncharted2 n GT5 i'm flying off the radar lol

Dude, do yourself a favour and go check youtube or gametrailers videos of this game. It looks INSANE! It's an open-ended action RPG, my favourite. :) It also gets pretty good reviews.
 
That it does. Apparently it's also a very difficult game, one reviewer says that you'll learn to play it by dying ... a lot. The bosses look insane, they are like HUGE, couple of times the size of your character. I cannot wait for payday to get this game. :D
 
Doesn't look as epic as shadow of the colusses HUGE though..... what a brilliant game that was -sjoe- when is no2 coming out?
Between this,Mass Effect2,Dragon Ago,Assassins Creed 2. I'm gonna be very poor this year :p

Looks damn hardcore though, I can see myself breaking things if I ever play this game lol :p
 
I too am interested in this game but found the videos lackluster (combat looked 'clunky')...

Wlad once you get it can you do a mini-review in comparison to some other RPG's?

I like the idea that it is hard. Not often do really hard RPG's come out.
 
Yeah, I hear you man, I'm thinking the exact same thing. I'm gonna make sure to keep all lightweight, throwable, breakable stuff away from me when I start playing this game. :p

I think my hands are still permantly damaged from the game :/

[EDIT] S.T.A.L.K.E.R on Master Difficulty was Insane :(

I dunno hey, combat looks pretty cool to me, except maybe for the kill animations that can become repetitive.

I, on the other hand, am not particularly fond of hard games, they tend to frustrate me.

I'll try my best to do a mini-review when I get it.
 
I dunno hey, I'm not the biggest fan of uber difficult games, but this one looks to good to miss. Every review I've read so far mentions that you will die a lot, and then die some more. I hope I make it past the first level before throwing my controller through my screen. :p
