Desk Chair

Solitude

Mr. Nice Guy
My chair is a bit over the wall and I need to replace it. Do you guys have any recommendations as to where I should buy one?

I mean I can go to Makro but it feels that the chairs from there won't last long.

I bought mine from Makro over 2 years ago for just on R1000 and it has lasted me well. I only use it at night and over weekends.

Thanks Fivel. I see I can order online from them so I may as well buy from them if it spares me from going outside. :)

I've gone through a number of chairs over the years... All of them have cost around the R1000/1000kr mark and ended up buckling, skewing or otherwise failing after a few months.

Most likely because I tend to put my feet up or cross my legs in them or otherwise fail to compose myself in some perfect feet-on-ground posture.

So... I finally decided to invest in a "proper" chair.

It's rock solid and has served me well so far and also comes with neck and back support cushions.

They have a new version out of it as well: http://akracingeurope.eu/product/akracing-premium-gaming-chair-carbon-black-v2/

It cost a pretty penny but it's comfortable, it's sturdy and it's built to last. I could've saved myself a lot of money if I just took the dive and bought a chair like this in the first place.

Sagely advice: Don't skimp on a good chair. Your back (and your wallet) will thank you in the long-term.

Sounds like you needed a sofa not a chair :)

AKRacing is a Polish brand... I think they only ship around Europe and possibly Russia.

There's also DXRacer, another Polish company that makes fantastic chairs, who also primarily ship only around Europe and the USA.

Buuuuuut these guys http://www.racingchairs.co.za/ seem to sell their products. Give them a call or an e-mail?

Okay, I decided to go with a Makro chair. I'm hoping that it will last and even if it doesn't then I can buy 2 more for the price of one of those racing type chairs. :)

That racing website (in SA) that was linked is soo bad :(

Their products are over-priced and I cant even find a checkout area...

Anyone know of someone else in SA who sells decently priced racing chairs?
Cause there is no way I am spending 3k on one of those

I agree the site sucks, but that's how much those chairs generally go for, if not more.

Can confirm.

Mine cost me 2,795kr (approximnately R4,400). You Saffers don't realise how good you've got it :p

Awesomesauce :D

May it bring your posterior many years of joy and may its lumbar support offer you many consecutive hours of gaming pleasure

I went with a R1500 chair. Let me see if I can find it...

This is the chair I went with in the end: http://www.makro.co.za/office-and-stationery/-kingston-executive-operators-chair-207826EA

I actually went to Makro and tried out different ones until I found the one that I liked the most. :)

I love how people walk by and laugh/smirk/comment on a person trying out a chair in a store, like you're being lazy or something. Go ahead, buy a chair without trying it out first. Hope its so uncomfortable you never use it! Seen that happen too many times.
