Destiny Beta

Sad to see the beta go :( Had a great time and definitely cemented my expectations of this game.

Jan, whats your PSN? So I can add you.

Yeah, got a whole month of waiting. Though I don't think I'll be taking much part in the Crucible, I suck at PvP. Though I really enjoy the co-op PvE. That Devil's Lair mission actually took me like 20-30min to complete (at least it felt that way).

I won't lie they made the old, wait-for-the-door-to-open-while-killing-wave-after-wave of enemies more exciting, end boss was also a bit tough but the randoms I played with seemed to have a good grasp of 1 bait and 2 shoot we would switch around quite often.

What are your guys thoughts on the controls ? I have never been a fan of FPS's on consoles, but I think I'm definitely going to give Destiny a try.

I played it on PS3 and the controls were rock solid. All this beta did was made me want to get a PS4 now...

I went from Killzone where there was no auto-aim and you have to track targets manually with your thumbstick, to a auto snap-in aim system. It annoyed me for the first couple of hours but I got used to it as I played.

Dude! Seriously! Check one of my previous posts about this. I am by NO MEANS a FPS player on console. I have taken every precaution to steer away from them. But I have really grasped Destiny and the controls, it seems to play very nicely and able to learn/adapt to the controls very easily/quickly. Though I still struggle with the seasoned PVPers.

Yeah I generally don't like playing FPS on a controller, but Destiny was remarkably satisfying playing with one.

Yeah the controls are not a worry, gameplay is fun.
Multi-player was fun and I surprisingly didn't feel at a disadvantage for lag.
Graphics were eally good (those sky boxes mmmmm)
Single player that joins into co-op is pretty cool and makes the game feel alot bigger.

Only worry I have is going back to the same hub area only to face re-spawning enemies, and go down short side locations for story missions. Gets monotonous after the 5th time.
Also a lot of the missions were just hold a point while robot unlocks things and face waves of enemies, hope for more variety.

If I remember correctly, either PS owners will get it before Xbox or there are PS+ exclusives/incentives.

Also wondering, is cross platform in regards to generation? As in if you have an xbox one will you be able to play with friends who are playing on a 360?

There was a article on Polygon/IGN/Kotaku/Reddit (I can't recall) stating that cross platform would not work without starting all over again.

Yes, anything that is not connecting or played through the exact same format is considered cross platform.

Ah Ha! Found it, was a forbes article. Pretty sure it was a reddit post with a link to the article.

Thanks, that is really disappointing.

Next question sorry if its in the article, briefly read it at work. If you purchase the game on the 360 and xbox 1 or any other platform, is your account a single account or do you create a new account on each console? Apparently Diablo 3 is like that on the consoles?

That... Is a good question, I would think that the accounts can be transfered much like Diablo but I will have to try and find out.

***EDIT***
Yes you can:

Awesome thanks. I've been pretty divided on getting the next gen console, still deciding whether to just play this on the xbox 360 or get a next gen console. But if I do play it on the 360, it would be cool to still be able to play it on the same account if I do upgrade at some point.
