Just came across this nice little video, and I can tell you what... I wholeheartedly agree him. I think the best generation of gamers are the ones that lived through those eras, that 25-35 year old group.

What are your opinions and thoughts?

That's a very good video and I agree completely. Unfortunately I do not have the time right now to elaborate.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know that you dont have time to elaborate :p

Jokes aside, im the same age as that guy, and I can understand exactly where he is coming from...

Iv never actually thought about the advancement i myself have seen take place in the gaming industry... I mean i can remember a time when computers were still monochromatic with those terrible green pixels that depicted things on the screens. If i think about that to what im currently playing its mind blowing...

His best example though has to be GTA 1 to GTA 3... I mean wow... The jump from 1 to 2 wasnt that hectic, but the jump to 3D was incredible...

Yes, very well said.

I'm turning 30 this year, and I've been playing games for more years than I haven't.

Nowadays it seems that everybody needs to fit inside the same box. Everyone must play CoD/Destiny/WoW, otherwise you're not a player.

I've made the decision a couple of months back to play what I want, how I want, and my enjoyment out of games has increased tenfold.

And it would be interesting to see what games look like in 10-15 years, would VR have taken off or not?

I've been thinking for a while now that mankind has reached the pinnacle of technology in terms of what is and can be displayed on a screen.
He echoes that thought in what he says about entire franchises coming and going over a period of almost 10 years that still look exactly the same.

Very little will change in games from now on until a new way to play is properly developed(like the occulus maybe)

And then when we get access to the omni treadmill there will never be a fat gamer ever again :p

And for those that don't know what the omni is..
