Just wants the trophy
Bravado’s Dimitri 'Detrony' Hadjipaschali sits three points off the top of the log following his forfeit in match week two of the 2014 Do Gaming League (DGL) Quake Live (QL) Summer Leg.
The Dreamhack star had been scheduled to face Santos ‘carnage_’ Dev but a failure to organise their match in time saw Hadjipaschali forfeit the three points.
On Thursday, 13 February [two days after the start of match week two] Santos ‘carnage_’ Dev initiated contact after requesting that the match take place prior to Sunday, 16 February as he would be unavailable while on holiday.
More specifically, Hadjipaschali was docked with the forfeit after he failed to communicate (at all) with his opponent until 10pm Sunday evening [a full three days later and only one day before the deadline] – “leaving no realistic time to organise this matchâ€, as deemed by the Do Gaming League admins.
The grounds of the forfeit have left the Bravado man notably angered.
“I find the ruling to be pathetic since I planned to be present during [both] the Sunday and Monday, which were days still available for the game to be played,†says Hadjipaschali.
“I'm not asking you to hand me the win but the fact that he gets an automatic 2-0 where I still made myself available (when he wasn't available, as I wasn't other days) is just really illogical.â€
“Please remove me from this league as I would not like to continue,†he finished.
Despite his argument, Hadjipaschali's grievance isn't as completely justified as it would appear.
The QL veteran in fact made no official indication on the match thread that he would be available on such 'days' after his first contact with Dev near midnight on Sunday evening.

The ruling, however harsh it may seem, emphasizes the importance of efficiently organising match games as soon as possible, across all of the respective leagues.
Hadjipaschali's brother and Owner of Bravado Gaming, Andreas 'Cent' Hadjipaschali, refused to be dragged into the situation but has come out in the defence of his younger sibling.
"He [Dimitri] feels very strongly about the situation and if this is the DGL's decision, then he is going to withdraw from the leg," says Andreas [Cent].
"This has happend to us in Counter-Strike many times but no 'automatic' wins were ever awarded to us. I think its only fair that they play the game. My brother did reply before the due date was over."

In response to the outburst, the DGL team has reffered the situation to the General League Rules, heading "Match Results/Bookings", rule 3:
Do Gaming will release the match roster at the start of the leg. Each week, teams/players must book with their opponents to play the match at a time which both leaders agree to. Once you have agreed upon a match time and booked a server, you must make a post on the match page so that the admins are aware of the booking. Teams/players must make their match booking by no later than Thursday evening.
"This ruling will not be changed."
The DGL has since retired Hadjipaschali from the league as per his request.
