Deus Ex: Human Revolution Collector's Edition local pricing

Dang R999 are you serious? Thats quite heavy considering what you get imo. Depending on the action figure size, because the other content is pretty standard for most collectors editions that come in cheaper. Guess you have to be a die hard fan :)
 
That price is simply too much for a game, most likely standard edition for me. Though i think it's great that SA is getting the option to actually buy the collectors edition from local suppliers.

That is a price tag and a half. What is this about buying content for the game? Will they have a store where you can actually go and purchase new items to use? I've come to accept paid for DLC for weapon packs...but an e-tailer for in game items for this? Really?:wtf:

The pc one is R878, which is not too far off a new console game. in fact it's like R378 more if you take in account they sold roughly for R500.

If you can piss away money on booz, parties, fast food, smokes, sex etc etc. Why not let us spent that on something that lasts more that 3 minutes or hour or two :)

Besides one can easily save up to release by putting away money each month vs ZOMG R800 !!! once off you can't really afford it in a single payment.

Let men have the men toys and the boys have the boys toys ;)

I find myself agreeing with you more and more often. What happened to your duplicity? :p
 
Yes it is easy to save up for a collectors, I am quite a fan of owning collector's editions myself (StarCraft 2, World of Warcraft, God of War 3, GT5 and so on..) The point I was trying to get across is the actual Value of the Collector's is not worth the price in my opinion. Look at the Witcher 2 collectors edition, THAT is a collectors item.

<--- CE whore. I can pretty much guarantee that if there's a game I want and it has a collector's edition, chances are good I'd pay pretty much any price. The higher the price, the more exclusive it is :D

I think it's fair to say that it depends on the contents and price but R800-R900 for a CE isn't so bad. I can live with it :)
 
Update: I'd originally placed my pre-order with Take2 but since MyGaming's store has it... I'ma change my order to them. Trust MyG way more and plus, they've done a sterling job of getting games to me on time before so... yay :D

Also was assured that should there be any pre-order goodies, I'ma get them :D
 
Being able to afford it should not make one automatically have to have it. I agree with the others here that the Collectors Edition simply does not offer anything unique, especially not R999's worth.
