Diablo 2 problem

Hey guys hope you doing well

I have been trying to install diable 2, the setup runs perfectly but when it come time to play this error msg pops up:

THIS PROGRAM HAS KNOWN COMPATIBILITY ISSUES
check online to see if solutions are available from the Microsoft website

Have any of you guy had this same issue

and wont let me play do you think you might be able to advice on how I could fix this, if that is even possible, or is it some thing I will need to go online to try and fix. if you cant help it's no biggie I am sure I can just google it. or give the game a skip. I just wanted to get stuck in the game this weekend.

Game does work with Windows 7, so don't worry.
Try the compatibility mode, right click on the exe file. Go to properties and then compatibility. Change it to run with Windows xp or 2000 or even 98.
also try take a look at the high res pack, that makes it quite nice as well as it has aged quite badly if running on an lcd monitor
 
Otherwise you may need to make sure that the game is being run in administrator mode.
Just play around with the settings and make sure the game is all patched up.
 
Simon is right. Although I installed D2 yesterday on W7, got the same message, and just ran it anyway. Worked perfectly.

What do you mean you just ran it anyway, did you also change the compatability in the proterties of the exe files?

I think the error message comes up after installation. What Staple2 is saying (I think) is that he just clicked on ok with the error message and then just started the game.
If the game doesn't launch then fiddle with the compatibility and you should get it working without a sweat.
 
Awesome cause mine does not launch so I will just play around with the compatability setting thanks again
 
you should be able to get it from shops now, usually around 100 - 130 if nobody does. Expansion is well worth it though
 
OK more problems, I have tried to run it in every type of compatability but it will wont launch and it now gives me an error say

FT_ Thunk(KERNEL32.D11)

I tried downloading a KERNEL repair tool and I ran it and it found 132 errors but you need to register for the software for the programm to run and fix the probles, is there any other sulution to this or does any one know of any good free Kernel fixing tool :( thissux ball all I want is to play the game damit
 
Er, D2 should work perfectly on Windows 7. I'm running it on X64 using only run as admin and everything works perfectly. Have you installed 1.13?

Awesome I will definitly be taking the Diablo 2 pack :) do you know what version it is cause that seems important :)
