Diablo 3 2.2.0 Microtransactions???

I wanted to keep this out of the original thread so here goes,

Theres a blue post on the eu forums saying

http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/13686810330

In the meantime, some new features may start to show up in data mined information for patch 2.2.0 that will not apply to all regions. Specifically, the following features will not apply to the European region:

A new currency called "Platinum"
Timed experience boosts
New cosmetic items including wings, non-combat pets, and character portraits
References to stash space and character slot expansions
A new UI interface that references the above information

However they are also going to be kept from the US servers

In the meantime, some new features may start to show up in data mined information for patch 2.2.0 that will not apply to all regions. Specifically, the following features will not apply to the Americas:

A new currency called "Platinum"
Timed experience boosts
New cosmetic items including wings, non-combat pets, and character portraits
References to stash space and character slot expansions
A new UI interface that references the above information

So saying that, you think theres gna be microtransactions tested on the koreans??? Dont see why they would add this "platinum" or "timed experience boosts" if there wasnt a micro transaction. Thoughts?

HAHA! I wondered how long it would take Blizz to monetize D3!

If it's kept strictly cosmetic, I think it's fine, if they start charging for gear, well then the game has gone down the toilet again.

Edit: I don't like the idea of monetizing stash space and char slots. It's a slippery slope from there :P

It works for MMO's but Diablo 3 is not a MMO. It is a RPG with drop in drop out multiplayer.

Sounds like its not to much of a big deal... I think Blizz got burned pretty bad by the community on the Auction house Saga... They wont start charging for items, but i can easily see some sick Transmog recipes coming about...

This idea of personalizing your character appeals to some, and if they happy to pay for it then off they must go in my opinion...

That is a big no no, it means people will be able to get paragon levels faster than non paying players..giving them an edge.

Ya look the experience boosts are fine provided they cant happen in seasons... That would just be stupid...

Just a matter of time before they add a level 60 boost like they did with the level 90 boost in the wow game store.

No on all occassions, what happens for us guys who like to get literally every tmog?

I craft stupid items just so i can get the tmog

What "Timed experienced boosts"??????? I know if someone pays for something like this it doesn't affect my own game, but I refuse to support a company that makes money out of these sorts of things:mad:

Did the WOW community not shit itself when this happened?

Aye, but obviously it didn't help much. it's making them tons of money at 40 quid a pop.

It's only available in the Asian regions. Like Enduring Elixir of Wisdom

Mmmm fair enough, although the "elixer of wisdom" gets bought with ingame currency doesn't it?

Nein, you can only get it with real money. I can't remember the details but its to do with the limited time people in the Asian regions have to play. Most of them play at internet cafes. So they are willing to pay for stuff like xp boosts to get more out of their game time.

Surely it would be better to introduce a new mode that allows faster leveling or something like that? In all honesty leveling is part of the experience...

I would like micro transaction if it was purely cosmetic or for instance if a season ended and the some drops were not available any more and you could buy them from the store or maybe like different pets for the demon hunters and the witch doctors, Even maybe adding some new character model :p

Perhaps they r missing the good old days of the auction house. So now they looking for ways to get some extra $$$ out of us...

You mean a less lucrative option? I'm sure Kotick would love that.

My apologies... How silly of me to assume they are there to make the consumers happy and not rape our wallets for every penny... "whistling:
