Diablo III - General Discussion Thread

Regarding rushing, people go for world firsts, thats why the rush like machines through the game. People like Athene, who was the world's first 80 and 85 WoW toon did the same. Its for the eFame guys. I don't agree with it, but I know a few speed-runners that drill the first playthrough, foregoing all cut-scenes / lore / health / sleep in order to accomplish the goal. They play slowly after they have attained celeb-like status.

I have closed my game to friends Quick-Joining too. My first playthrough ie: normal difficulty / up to level 30, is all by myself. I want to take my time. I even have a "mute-Mumble/TS" macro setup. Its important that I enjoy and learn D3 properly.

Regarding expansions, Diablo lore is quite deep (from my limited knowledge). They can add content at a whim. Its in the Diablo universe, not necessarily killing the guy himself. And besides, he's always getting rezzed by some or other crazy event :p

Regarding choosing your region, I can tell you guys how important this is.. The last thing people want to do is reroll again and again. Protip: if you can't add a friend for some reason (and the server is not lagging out), strong chance one of you is in the wrong region. The first time I launched the game, it was defaulted to AMERICAS... (i installed using the 7.6GB EU preload installer). Make sure when your friends start, you tell them.
 
I may sound like a hater now since I don't own a copy of this game, but...

Almal is nou (understandably) Diablo 3 mal... Come Guild Wars 2 ...

You guys were lucky, one of my friends was literally doing a mosh of rage in his room struggling to get it up and running. All I could do was lol.

has anyone else had high latency? I only managed to Log in last night after 10PM, played for an hour an a half, and then basically lagged out. Great game though.
 
i think reason some has defaulted to Americas was probably a pref that was set with when they did beta. I changed my graphics setting on beta and when i did the CE install it kept those settings.

I noticed this too, my custom feed back settings like displaying damage dealt was also in when I booted up, setting I set during the beta.
 
Does it matter what region you play on? I could only get into Asia last night so played merely on there not realising that you can't now play on Europe with that same character. Will lag be much different?

Not only will the latency differ, but so will the RMAH, your characters as well as your friendslists.

You should get better latency on EU than you do with Asia.

If you drop into my game tonight you can by pass the first bit and pick up after the skeleton king, you should level quick fast.
