Diablo III - General Discussion Thread

I heard of people finishing it in under 18 hours....

which is not a lot, i have to say....

Yeah, bothers me a bit, seeing as D2 took me around 50 hours, and then I skipped a lot of side quests on top of that as well.

Going to try a new character to get a feel for the others. Other than Monk and Wizard, which class is fun without requiring too much micromanagement?

I see the latency is balls again tonight. FFS man...now it's gonna be another lagfest session. This crap completely pisses me off.

I like to bruteforce my way through games the first time I play them. :p

I'm not really one for working out the exact item stats required for Build X, etc.

What stats? Diablo III is the most simplified of the lot and you'll find that, like Glordit said, all the classes are pretty much the same as far as "customisation" (management and skill selection) goes.

And even then, nothing is permanent--it's all hot-swappable.

The Witchdoctor is pretty fun, it's just that everyone seems to be playing the class. :p

It's rare to join a game and NOT have at least two in it.

I figured you'd be running around as a Demon Hunter. He's all passive-aggressive, emo and vengeful. Just your type :D

I had a bit tonight when I first logged in and then it settled down. Ping around 380ms on average it seems.

Seems like latency varies from player to player. At times I would have massive spikes, but no one else in our mumble chan would. But I also felt it last night. Actually caused a death for me too :'( . The Glass Cannon + Lag + HC would make me very angry, so I am leaving HC alone for now. I get too attached to my characters :)

Firstly, those people rushed and did not fully immerse themselves. Secondly, 18 hours is not a lot? Most (of the more lengthy) SP campaigns these days such as Skyrim etc are 18-30 hours, and that's rushing. But you're only level 30 or so and the goes up to INFERNO difficulty. So technically, it took you 18 hours to finish half the levels, and things get exponentially more difficult in the harder difficulties.

Had another awesome session last night, didn't progress much since me and Grimspoon where helping Murph get to the end of Act I. I also started a Wizard that will become my co-op character leaving my Barbarian for soloing.

Looking forward to getting some serious time in tonight.

We didn't get any lag thats worth mentioning and we had skype call running in the back ground.
