Diablo III not expected in 2010, may come to console

Yes, I agree that the game will truly be a quality title, and will buy it either way. But once they start losing hype, they might lose alot of sales. They are already pissing people off with Starcraft II. I work in a game shop, and I can tell you already that far 2 many people has canceled their pre-orders because of the sh#tstorm at Blizzard

Diablo III will either reinvigorate or confirm my beliefs in Blizzard (I am hoping the former).

I will never say Blizzard's technical quality / game design are going downhill, but a change in their target market has had a change in some gameplay choices, or a certain lack thereof, for some. It is very relative I understand, you please some and displease others. Unfortunately I am one of those feeling disenfranchised by their choices.

I'm reserving judgment until I've either played the demo or played the game as most people realise you cannot just call something crap from looking at a picture or two. However saying that, and understanding that Diablo III and Starcraft II are the two most anticipated PC games since Half Life 2, Blizzard are going to have to watch where they step and watch what information they release to the public because you know what the public do, they criticise, and NEVER in a good way.

+1

Wow, Dax & fayainz. It's refreshing to see someone with level-headed posts. This is actually so against the grain of "Blizzard is the next EA". EA release buggy games, supports it for a few months. Then they move on to next game so that, that poor, buggy game is forgotten.

Blizzard tend to aim for legendary status.

Mhh lets see:

EA
announces game
releases it 6 months later
buggy as hell
needs lots of patches
few months later, game still has same bugs
stops all support of game +/- 2 years later

Blizzard
announces game
beta tests game
releases when ready
very few bugs
patches are usually balancing issues (IOW no +500MB patches)
supports games 9+ years and even provides content patches (Diablo 2 getting content update soon)

Also, here is Blizzards Official stance from the beginning. Not their fault people getting upset about what the press said.
When will Diablo III be released?

It's too early to estimate Diablo III's release date. As with all Blizzard Entertainment games, our goal is to create a game that is as fun, balanced, and polished as possible. We intend to take as much time developing Diablo III as is necessary to ensure the game meets our own high expectations and those of our players.

hence why i will still buy this game and Starcraft 2, but just the idea of waiting another year for the game is a hard blow to deal with. Being the Diablo fan that I am, its like showing a kid a piece of candy and telling him that he can have it in the not so near future. sigh

I also wish that I was playing D3 and SC2 right now, but reality is; it's still in development.

But I'm not going to turn into a rabid fanboi, QQ-ing at every single press statement that gets released.

Patience is a virtue.

Haha. Yes, but Patience is a virtue that I do NOT possess hehe.

Sounds familiar.
But damn delaying the PC version so they can make a console version? Unfair.... Or atleast that's the reason I think they delaying it.
