Diablo III Pushed To 2012

Diablo III will release in early 2012, Blizzard has confirmed.

In a statement, CEO Mike Morhaime said the delay is to allow Blizzard to improve the game before its release.

"With every game we make, the temptation is always very strong to launch as soon as possible," Morhaime said. "However, we didn't put so many years of work into Diablo III to release a game that was almost ready."

Blizzard will extend the Diablo III beta, allowing for further testing and "potentially adding more testers than initially projected," according to a press release.

"The beta test is going very well, and we look forward to making the most of the extra time we're taking to deliver an experience that lives up to our vision for the game and the expectations of our players," Morhaime said. "Next year is going to be an incredibly busy one for Blizzard, and we hope an incredibly fun one for Blizzard gamers."

No further launch details were released, but expect more announcements to come via the game's official site.

im glad to read this ! this means that activision hasnt spoiled what makes blizzard great , the unending will to perfect and polish a title before releasing it.
 
The attached Video, was it recorded with the game on MAX Settings, if so god the GFX are terrible and dated. Typical Blizzard.
Must give the beta a go, but doubt it will change my opinion that this game is being hyped motherless.
 
I think it would have been insane if Blizzard actually managed to release it this year... for about a year I've expected this to only be released in 2012. Dying for some Beta action now!
 
I call this when they announced the beta. No ways you could start a beta at the end of Sept and release beginning of Dec.

Yup, the game isn't looking very sharp...The looks are ugly to be honest..beginning to think I'm going to give this one a miss.

Bit of a cliché reply. It's action rpg, not some crysis shooter or mass effect...

Please tell me what is really putting you off . Is it the isometric top down view? Is it the colors? Too much clicking?
 
How does Diablo 3 looks "really, really old"?

I think D3 looks good but it would be interesting to see what top down games you consider to look good/modern. Only game I can think off that has better visuals than D3 would maybe be DOTA2 but I find with all the sparkly lighting effects and soft colours it's hard to see some of the action.

Blizzard have never broken ground in terms of visuals in their games they go for the more functional and accessible approach.
