DICE not proud of buggy Battlefield 4 launch

All is good and well, but it doesn't help they give us this week of double XP and the game still crashes and fails to launch and runs with the multitude of bugs still in it, Rather first sort out all or most of the issues then give us the double xp week and the weapon.

I was playing a round last night and after the scoreboard came up and the map change occurred my game just crashed first time that happened to me.

don't know if any of you can remember the last double xp weekend they offered what happened then? (We had the first ddos attack)

Fix first then give rewards please dice(And give me commander mode for my phablet :p)

Well it is great that DICE is acknowledging the problems in BF4 and have announced they working on them. I have not bought the game yet, but I will in the future.

Wish Ghost Games and Criterion were the same..... :(

I think that Dice was pressured by ea to release, even tho they prob did not want as they wanted to be in before ghosts

There's bound to be some issues at launch with such a big multiplayer game as BF. But Dice does seem to make an effort to actually fix things, and balance weapons as they find that some give too much advantage etc.

Well the patch they released for Xbox did nothing. In fact, made it worse in terms of stability, but added some aesthetic changes. I've also been having server crashes since the patch.

I'm seriously concerned that they are going to neglect the Xbox360/PS3 versions in favour of the next gens, and PC. They ignored the metro freeze issue in BF3 on console. I can't ever get through a game of Dawnbreaker, I've just given up and quit the server when Dawnbreaker loads.

While I understand there's bound to be bugs, these are pretty huge bugs (freezing and crashing)...and the games been out for almost a month. Also, they showcased Bf4 as this wonderful multiplayer esports games, with spectator mode etc etc. Then dont even allow platoons in battlelog? Its like they needed another year of development.

I just really hope rushing it hasn't hurt them too negatively, the bad PR from this early release is terrible.

This only happens because we allow it to. EA sets a release date months/years in advance and then the developer has to ship an unfinished, buggy product because of it. If the gaming community could just have a bit of patience and refuse to buy products like this until they're properly patched, companies are going to stop shipping buggy messes.

It's nonsense that games have to be patched after release to make them properly playable and it's the gaming community's fault with their pre-order and Day 1 purchasing culture.

On Battlelog at the moment

WE'RE ROLLING OUT SERVER VERSION R12 ON ALL PLATFORMS. YOU MIGHT EXPERIENCE SOME DOWNTIME DURING ROLLOUT. THE GOAL WITH THIS UPDATE IS TO INCREASE STABILITY. FULL DETAILS IN THE BF4 CONTROL ROOM.

I actually feel a bit sorry for DICE here... They work their ass off on these games and then EA just comes and forces them to push it out of the door. EA is a shit company and I'm starting to hate them even more than Failvision.

I will never again support another Activision game again, and if EA continues down this road, it's goodbye to Battlefield or any other game EA touches. Sigh, it's such a kak one really. If DICE didn't sign up with EA, they probably wouldn't have had the budget to make such an epic Battlefield, but I really hope they try to become independent again. Or at least in their development rights. I will buy another BF game from DICE, but if EA is getting involved, I'm not so sure...

I agree man. I'm THE biggest Bf3 (and now Bf4) fan, but I completely agree with people complaining and giving EA/DICE shit about a sub standard game, and about all the related problems. We cannot let them think its ok to release like this, and it has to hit their bottom line in the end or it will continually happen.

I couldn't agree with you more!
