Did gaming really start on the PC?

So from an opening paragraph that sets the context for said article you got upset coz she was stating the TRUTH? :confused:
I think fanboy is perfectly correct since only fanboys go onto the internet and scream "HOW DARE THEY" or any such tripe. As for the PC guyz getting shafted... well thats a whole other debate, the console guyz will soon have to buy all their games new since devs are cutting out the pre-owned market.

There was no Console Vs. PC in this article whatsoever. There was however a few brilliant jabs at people who tent to take an entertainment past time so serious. Im sure there are a few Girlfriends out there who wish their Boyfriends defended their honour half as much as some fanboy rush to defend their specific Movie/Game/Genre/Platform/Book/Magazine/...softdrink.

I have no problem with people criticising what I do, really.

I do have a problem with people assuming I have an agenda, and criticising that, however.

If you want to stop the pointless Platform VS Platform and silly fanboyism discussions then stop encouraging in and out articles. however it is interesting to dig a bit at history where gaming started. i would love to see/read a trek done on how graphics and sound has progressed up to what we have now and the impact on us the gamers and game development....

That's all I've been saying. It was an unnecessary dig in an otherwise useful article.

There was such an article done recently in one of the gaming blogs.....mmmm lemme think.

Oh, come off it. Why - WHYYYYYYY - can't I point out something that's true without a bunch of stupid, insecure people getting angry about it (and I'm not referring specifically to this article)? And frankly, screw the stupid, insecure people. Nobody else in this thread has had an issue with what I wrote here, and there's not much in the way of that in the article comments either. I'm so over people making huge issues out of nothing. I'm not going to censor my opinions just in case I offend someone who can't think past their own prejudice and inferiority complex.

I always intend to provoke debate, but when it begins and ends with ill-appropriated offence and no regard for context or anything else in between, I can't pretend to be interested.

Azimuth if you can't take the tiniest bit of criticism you have no business being a game journalist. necuno wasn't attacking you, he made a calm observation which could have been responded to in like manner - something you seem totally unable to do. How about instead of telling everyone else to stop taking themselves so seriously you take a bit of your own advice.

I wasn't attacking necuno at all. Perhaps you're determined to see everything I say as an attack? The only thing directed at him was the "Oh, come off it" bit, and that's because I wouldn't agree that I'm encouraging pointless squabbling. Certainly not in this article anyway.

b) the cause is encouragement of it.
c) if the encouragement stops the kak talk should stop too.

a) if you want to stop something, then stop encouraging it.
b) no exact culprit or article was refereed to.
c) read as general.

i was trying to say something in general. not direct to anyone- thus trying to avoid more bullshit talk. however i see it's not working...

...simply that, it seems that we have a lot of talk on for example console VS pc VS wtf and that if it needs to be stopped then it shouldn't be encouraged in any form.

well that's what i wanted to say without doing the pew pew towards any soul.
