Digital or media gaming

Unfortunately, not all of us have the benefit of being able to download over and over.

Yeah even if you have uncapped its a pain, but that's why I said you can back up everything on disk, or just transfer it onto an external. You can even copy it off a friends computer.
Point is though, the option is there. If you drop a disk onto a tile and it breaks (happened to me) you can kiss that money goodbye.

If... In the unlikely event you should encounter a USB problem on your mobo - how will you update or format a drive without the rom?

I think if you have a USB problem on your motherboard, formatting is probably the least of your worries.

My motherboard is so old, random sh*t like that is common.
I perform maintenance at least once a month.

- Now that I joined PS+ I'm also going digital. Lost a lot of games over the years boring to friend.
- Digital Version should also be cheaper then physical disk once they get that right I'm sold.
- Going digital is also a great alternative when your optical drive fails
