DiRT Rally

I downloaded it last night. I'm terrible. But after a 5 races I had improved, so there is hope. It's awesome, just need loads of practice.

Not sure how we all missed it, but Dirt Rally was moved out of Early Access and onto Steam as a full release on Monday.
Yes, as of today, DiRT Rally is officially leaving Early Access and launching on Steam. It’s been a hell of a ride and we’re so glad you’ve been able to join us along the road to launch. Between you, you’ve clocked up over 98 million kilometres so far!

Today’s Steam launch brings with it the Winter Wonderland update, which delivers a new rally set in the snow and ice of the Varmland region of Sweden to the game. These snow-filled stages are known for their snow banks and we’ve been hard at work on new soft edge tech that simulates the density of snow. As a result, you can now lean on the snow banks when pushing for those stage records.

The update also brings two new cars to the game, the Hyundai Rally and the Volkswagen Polo Rally. These cars are the most recent additions to the pinnacle of the sport and they are the perfect way to round off our Early Access programme.

The Winter Wonderland update also sees the introduction of Steam Workshop support that allows players to share Car Setup & Force Feedback settings.
Just found the 10GB update waiting in my download queue, and haven't played for a while now, so guess I'm going to visit snowy Swedish farmland when it's done.

Yeah, never missed it, I've stayed on top of it since I bought it on release to Early Access. I subbed to their announcements and been following it since. There hasn't been much hype or talk about it so I basically kept to myself about it.

Fantastic game!

Played quite a bit last night. Tried the new courses and cars. They've definitely changed the graphics a bit, actually feels like you're driving in the snow now. The lighting is blinding and glaring.

Never played Dirt but love Codemasters and loved Toca Race Driver (Lest not forget Severance: Blade Of Darkness!!) - figured it already got off road so why buy Dirt - Perhaps I will consider it this time around.

It's still the best rally sim in my opinion, but you know what they say about opinions...

This game is awesome, but so damn hard. Granted I've only played a brief few minutes to check it out so haven't really sat and learned it yet. Should put some time into it...

I can't play these games because you can play them 1 of 2 ways...

1. Full throttle through most of the game wiping out re-spawning and barely keeping ahead of the pack, which gets boring after a while.
2. Learn the course, breaking into corners, finding the line and being the best damn rally driver you can be, and I am just not that patient.

but oddly I love the game. maybe its just DiRT continues to capture my nostalgia for the early Collin McCrea rally games.

My download finished early this morning so I tried it out. Was sliding around on the gravel track. Broke the windscreen, need to learn how to drive.

Awesome game man, I really hope you enjoy it as much as I miss it :p

PS: play it in full simulation mode, no assists and cockpit/helmet cam.
