Hey, i'm getting a lot of super rad gaming memories from reading the PS3 comp thread. But we're not allowed to post anything other than our entry.

SO I thought it'd be cool to have a thread where we can comment on each others favorite games.

Mine is Prince of Persia 1. I just remember as a kid playing that thing flat out for days. Arrow keys ftw!

MAD GAME! Used to play it with my mates at lans for the whole damn weekend.
 
I loved Diablo 1. I remember when we bought our Pentium 166 and it came with a demo cd of a whole bunch of games. I really only played Monster Truck Madness and after a couple months I saw the demo for Diablo, I thought hmm whats this like. Tried it and from then loved the whole hack n slash genre.

Never really got into Diablo for some reason...but damn Monster Truck Madness = some good times!
 
I just made a rather long post in the "Fav Game" competition thread :P But at the end of the day, there are far too many to choose just one.

Star Control 2
C&C series
Quake 3
UT 99
Tomb Raider
Carmageddon
GTA
etc. etc.
 
The Thief game series. Simply loved this game back in the day. Hope they make a next-gen version, would love to play it on my 360.
 
One of my favourite games was T.I.M and Diablo 2. I actually liked most of the old games on DOS and windows 3.1 :D
 
It's hard for me to decide. On one had 1989's Prince of Persia was the 1st game I've ever really played properly in my life, and that deserves consideration. But I've never found as much replay value out of a game more than I did the 1st Metal Gear Solid. But than again, 2008's Prince of Persia was the most I've ever had out of any one game. It's hard to decide.
 
I haven't been around long enough to have actually played some of the olden classics. Right now my favourite would be Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Everything about it is just perfect.

Although quite new, I don't think i'll play a better game, unless Uncharted 3 tops it :)

Man used to love the quest for glory games. I remember getting the vga remake christmas of 92 I think and I tried to skip going to family to play it.

If have to think of a favorite game of all time, first thing that pops into head is Guildwars.
It was my first mmo, my first collectors edition, a game that introduced me to a great PH guild and local people and a game that spent over 4 years playing. (not a solid 4 years, I did other stuff too)

If I think back to terms of game play it was fun, there was a good story with cut scenes for each campaign and it wasn't a grind to get there. You had to set up a decent build with compatible armour before setting out and make sure you had the right skills to do the quest on hand. You could play with your build to support and compliment other players in your team, you didn't just have everything at your disposal to click frantically away, there was a method and a combo to get right.

I would still be playing it today if they added more campaigns, granted the last campaign, Eye of the North didn't enjoy as much as it became more of a grind for skillpoints/titles than anything else.

I still pop in once in a blue moon for a little bit and to reminisce of the good ol days, mostly also to get b'day mini pets :D
 
I had a tricky time deciding, it was between Jedi Knight 2: Outcast, Star Wars Republic Commando and the Assassins Creed games (mainly AC2) but when I saw someone else mention Mafia, I knew my mind was made up. Everything about that game has stuck with me, the music, the cars, the characters and the awesome missions. I just love getting sucked into that world each time.
 
The first time i played Final Fantasy X i was hooked. Back then I couldn't get the game at any shop and I looked everywhere. The
first time I played it I rented it from STAX video shop, after that i just rented it every weekend for a few months till i clocked it and had my whole sphere grid fully upgraded so my chars each did 99999 damage :D. The games story is the best i've ever seen in a game, just keeps you coming back for more to see what happens next.
 
Tomb Raider 3. On the pc. This was my first post-snes/sega game and had me sitting hours in front of the pc. I still play it, just love the game.
 
Mine would have to be Red Dead Redemption. Awesome visuals, gameplay and story. Rockstar always takes it one step further.
 
Heroes of might and magic 3. One of the finest games I have ever played. Been playing it since the demo:)
I mean it has so much content:)
