Mega, you think this game will be any good? Or just another knock-off, aka AC fused with a bit of Half-Life 2 and Hard Reset, culminating into a huge fail? Sorry, was probably not paying too much attention, and I probably can Google this, but who's developing this game?

IMHO it has the potential to be the new Thief. There are some really original ideas at play here but I cant help but remember the issues that ruined Dark Messiah, another first first hacky-slashy first person title that was plagued by some poor design choices.
If the devs can make the person stealth just as appealing as the combat and fine a good balance this could be the next big thing, but it has equal potential to fail miserably. Though I hope it does not as I welcome new ideas & new IPs at a time where established franchises dominate the industry.

Gotta agree with all your points there. DM had lots of potential, but they did screw it up a bit. And yeah, the idea for this game looks like it could be a very fun game if they do it right. Most games like this don't get the balance between stealth and full on combat just right, which is a shame. It's always the case that the one is much less appealing than the other which essentially, in my mind, just takes at least half of the fun away. So yeh, here's to hoping this turns out to be a classic.

Lol, feel like such a noob only realizing now that Bethesda is involved. I reckon they can pull it off so let's wait and see.

Bethesda is the publisher with Arkane Studios as the developer, who just happens to have been developers on Dark Messiah.
Lets see if they've learned from DM.

Yeh. DM wasn't a bad game..it was just a bit .. rough around the edges. Do you know what engine they're using?
 
Looks very promising, but yeah, the vid isn't actual ingame footage. Will wait for more details.

Excited to play something new with a strong single player story element that isn't another sequel.

There's a bit of in-game footage in the video Omega posted. Although it's just scenery and some characters, you can at least see what it looks like.
