Hi this is my first rage as I missed last years due to family emergency do people go home or do they just stay there for the full 53 hours and sleep on your computer does it have a specific closing time ect

thanks

I think he was asking more if the people here going to the LAN do :/ but ofcourse, i could be wrong. Yes, people do infact sleep, it can have a massive strain on your body being in that dome at a computer for 72 hours. I slept way to much last year tho.

Well, in that case it's up to the individual and whether you're willing to leave your PC alone, I guess.

I would imagine that place must smell pretty bad what with all those people's adrenalin rushing secreting out hormones etc.

ya was looking at the link graal provided but it just says

I have no idea. Just go to a hardware store and ask for the "red plug", they should know what you mean. Basically the plug is exactly the same as a normal one (even fits a normal wall socket), with the difference being that the "Ground" pin (longest one of the three) has been flattened down significantly on the top, meaning a normal plug won't fit the socket. This is to limit power draw or something from the plug, meaning you must comply in order to play.

Also, fitting this plug to your Xbox is no issue. Grade 1 electrician work, and after the plug is fitted it will still work 100% at home, you don't need to change the plugs back.

just wondering if any of you have experience buying these know exactly what to ask for don't want rage to come and I'm without the required equipment

thanks

Eh, I know exactly what the plug looks like, but I'm not sure where to get one. Your best bet will probably be trying one of the larger hardware stores such as Builder's Warehouse. They should definitely have it.

If you can, print out this picture and take it with you to the store in case nobody has an idea what you're talking about.

Ow look a sarcastic answer to an perfectly legit question. Was that really needed?

Yes.

The information is already somewhere else. People are encouraged to search and look through the forum first, before creating new threads. In this case, the info was already there and Graal linked to it.

See the 'sarcasm' as a gentle nudge in the right direction.

It all depends on how you see it. Maybe he never ment it in the way you see it. But on the other hand that page has almost everything you need to know about the lan.

I will be there for i think my 7th year at the lan. On the subject of sleeping. Well alot of people sleep under the desk, in the car, on the side (having a blow up bed made up), on the chair, Or even no sleep at all.
The smell can get ruff be sure to pack deo, mouth wash, extra set of clothing the small things can help at a event like this.

never the less cya there maybe chat and jam a game or 2 see you guys there ^^

You are looking for a flat-earth pin plug. They are usually red, as this is a clear way to indicate they are operating on a separate dedicated circuit.

The reasoning for this is to prevent the LANners plugging in all manner of devices. You are only allowed two plugs for your rig, one for the PC, and one for the screen. If you don't have these plugs, they won't let you in.

As for sleeping at the LAN, expect to see many comatose gamers slumped over keyboards.

While they officially don't allow you to take in camping equipment, I have seen more than a few foam cushions and sleeping bags in use over the years.

As for the snarky replies, I don't think it's a problem at all for someone to post a thread asking a question - this is the purpose of the forum after all. Yes, the information may be presented on the NAG forum, but that doesn't mean it can't and shouldn't be discussed here.

I will work up the annual NAG LAN survival guide, and then we will have a nice little thread where all discussion can go so the pedants don't get their knickers in a twist :)

Gamers rot is a terrible thing...

By sunday there is a scottish mist hanging over the lan area. Working at rAge for the last 6 years, u get to see some crazy sorts in the lan area

I saw the plug in a hardware store (Chamberlain) earlier today for about R14. Builders Warehouse and similar stores should keep it though.

Well One of my friends was there
And according to him they played Hours and just drank PLAY....
Don't know... wish I was there... But Duty Calls!!!! hehehehe
