Do you game online with people you know?

Curious how many here play with people they actually know.

"Know" for the purposes of this thread is either 1) Met in real life (even once) 2) Know their first name & surname

LANs & local doesn't count (do mention it though).
 
Nope. I don't game online at all, for that matter. The last time I gamed online was Guild Wars 2, and that I did with some colleagues. But I haven't gamed online in at least a year.
 
I normaly only play online with friends, although to elaborate, i usually only play co-op type games like PAYDAY 2, EVOLVE, HoTS, and battlefield 4, but there are times i play online games just on my own usually listining to some music or youtube video in the background. When it comes to LANs me and my friends try to atleast once a year when we are all on break from college, to have a big LAN at the local church, if not everyone is here, we get 3 or 4 of us at my house and play some online, and offline games together. I have on ocasion met some nice people online that I might not have met in real life but play some games online with.

I also play some games online with my brothers sometimes.

Almost never. I actually find it strange considering how many of my friends are gamers.

I played a few online matches of AOE2HD with my SO lately, but I think that's about it for the last few years.
 
My mate comes over fridays (not tonight tho :cry:) and we jam online stuff...other than that no....my "online" friends are all that...online.
 
80% of my gaming time is dedicated to online gaming. I play with real friends all the time, pretty much all the time actually lol.
 
I only game with friends I "know" - funny enough most of them are people I have never met, like clan mates and MyGaming community member, yet these are the people I consider to be close friends and people I trust more than "friends" I have in real life and even those I work with.

I don't really like gaming with randoms.
 
I played Borderlands 2 online with MyGaming friends if that counts. Normally I play single player games.
 
I have been online gaming for years, mostly with people that i met on forums, they do become IRL friends tho. I have weirdly made some of my bestest friends (Looking at you [MENTION=9789]DieGrootHammer[/MENTION]) on forums and then game with them online. I have also travelled to PTA, JHB, Durbs to meet up with online friends, since most of these people have become my best friends and I trust most of them more than the people I know in my life close to me.
 
I game online quite a lot with people I know. Myself and several friends played a lot of BF3 back in the day, I also played World of Warcraft with friends. I play World of Tanks with my brother, I have played several season of Diablo 3 with [MENTION=2530]Wyvern[/MENTION] (and other people who I don't "know").

Currently I play Overwatch with some friends as well. I like friends :3
 
Two of my best friends are both gamers and we make it a habit to try play something together at least once a week. Usually it's a game of Dota 2 but we also try to mix it up and find other games to play together. Last weekend we all decided to grab the Subnautica special and even though it's not a multiplayer game we still got on TS and played it together at the same time. :p

Otherwise how about the reverse situation, have you ever become friends with someone you met through an online game? While I have added a few people on Facebook that I met online, I've only ever met up with this one person whom I value as a really good friend.
 
I mainly play online with friends I have met in "real life" but the are a few online friends from MyGaming I also play online with occasionally.

Almost exclusively, until the last MyGame when I "met" some of the fine folks on this forum in TeamSpeak for the first time.

Otherwise it's mainly people I've gone to school with or was introduced to by a mutual friend.
 
I mostly game online and I recently switched over to console gaming, I chose to go with the XBox One and pretty much all my friends opted for the PS4. I don’t know anyone well enough on XBox One yet but the fun part of gaming is connecting with people who share your passion for gaming.
 
very rarely I play online with friends that I knew and who have now moved away. GTA V, Speedrunners, Counterstrike etc.
Would like to play BF with a squad that I know well.It would be a lot more fun I think. Even minecraft seems fun with people you know.

The friends I have in real life either don't play games or they say they play games but I don't know what this LOL is that they speak of. :D :D
