An interesting question from a recent Ask MyBroadband thread, that I thought would be interesting to discuss here.

Do you still use a desktop PC at home or at work? If so, what do you use it for?

Until January, I used a desktop for both home and work. Got a work laptop then, so now it's just my home machine that's a desktop.

Use it for work (Coding, CAD, simulations, report writing, research) and gaming, and a little streaming for the streaming sites that don't offer apps with Chromecast support (looking at you, supersport!).

Use a laptop at work, use a desktop at home. I have never owned a personal laptop, haven't needed it.

I use my desktop mostly for gaming, watching series/movies and browsing, with the odd bit of work now and then.

I use a crappy desktop at work, for Pastel, invoices, word, excel and the basic stuff I need as admin/office manager.

At home I game on my desktop as well :)

I'm on a laptop for work, and a desktop for gaming.

Occasionally I do some coding and messing around in Linux on the desktop, but mostly it's for gaming :D

I have a desktop PC at home that is almost exclusively used for gaming. I have a work laptop to use myself, as I do travel often and need more mobility. Interestingly, our company is pretty much hell bent on providing laptops only to staff throughout the business, regardless of their role. My analysts sits in an office the whole day and I got them tower PC's, as I could get much better specced machines for the same budget as laptops I could get. But, almost everyone else is going the laptop route.

Home : Windows 10 on Desktop for the games, Ubuntu on Laptop for browsing and the odd game
Work : Windows 10 on Laptop as I need to be mobile. I also have a Desktop but I use that for monitoring.

(primary) MSI laptop for work and gaming.
(secondary) Macbook Pro 13 for leisure and light work (word processing and Xcode).
(always on, rarely touch) Desktop for media server and "console" gaming on the couch.

I need a home for my ever changing graphics card.
