There's a GIF for that
This thread is inspired by a fairly recent thread by DuckKnuckle, where he is trying to sell his watch.

It made me wonder: who even wears watches anymore, and why?

I think the last time I actually wore a watch was somewhere in 1998, I've been using my phone (or PC) to tell the time ever since then.

Never wore a watch, only problem was I didn't have something to tell the time by until cellphones came along.

I wear a watch everyday, I actually feel kind of naked without it. The only place I don't wear it is at home. While I do use it to check the time now and then I wear it more because it has a skull on it and I am obsessed with those.

Here is a pic, just because:

I wear a watch every day I go to work, over the weekends and at home I take it off. They then lie in front of me on my desk for easy time checking.
At work my hands are sometimes dirty because I go into the plant, so it is much easier to check the time on my watch - don't really want to take out my phone with dirty hands.
I also have 2 watches, due to the nature of my work. The old one I only wear to work (think it is something like 12 years old now), and then I have a newer watch I wear if I go to town or whatever.

Once you wear a watch, you get used to it and as Wlad said, you feel naked without it then. The opposite is also true though, if you never wear a watch and then start wearing one, it feels uncomfortable and you constantly feel it on your arm.

I haven't worn a watch since I was in school which was also in the nineties. Most of my time I'm in front of a computer which shows the time or I have my phone with me.

My wife gave me a watch as a wedding present, so I wear it to work every day. If I need to go get my hands dirty in the workshop, I take it off.

I used to wear, but i keep forgetting to put it on my wrist so now it's just laying here.

But probably gonna sell it, it's a pebble smartwatch

My wedding present from my parents was a very nice watch - so I wear it when I dress up for an occasion. To tell time though I use my phone

Never really owned a watch so never wore one. If I got one as a gift I might but at the moment my phone does the job

I have been wearing a watch for 9 years now I believe, it's much easier to just look at my wrist, than to take out my phone just to look at the time. Only take it off when I am swimming, showering or washing dishes, I know they have like a water resistance thing, but I tend not to trust that, because of past experiences.

Never bought a watch tried wearing one years ago when I was still in school, it irritates me to no end

I wear a watch almost every day. I only take it off when I'm at home. I only own one watch at a time, usually replacing it when my current one breaks (roughly every 4 years). I got a brand new Fossil watch for my 30th birthday (2 years ago) from my wife and plan on getting a SevenFriday for my 34th.

I do, but a few weeks ago, the watch that lasted nearly +-8 years kicked the bucket. Need to wait until we go to a neighbouring town to replace it. With my current weekly doings, a wrist watch is necessary.

The last time I wore a watch was when I ran Comrades in 2010. And that was only because my phone was too big and heavy. I see no need for one now since I gave up running.

i use to only wear a watch occasionally but as im starting to get more into the fitness/running thing i went and bought a running watch which also has smart watch features so no i wear it permanently and only take it off when i shower/swim or going out at night
