Documentary about gaming addiction

If you stick to some outside time and exercise then you are already ahead of the curve. Take frequent breaks and give you eyes a break also.

I NEED those breaks, i can't play more than 2 to 3 consecutive rounds of BF before hitting fatigue and needing a stand up and reconnect :) I'll usually sit an entire round out after 2 or 3 rounds.

If I start seeing my performance slip I stop playing helped me greatly getting my kd ratio up.These old eyes are letting me down lol.

What break timings do you normally take? I know different people have specific routines

I think if any new people like myself come to this forum and not knowing about the comp, they will think we all have a addiction.lol

2 hours at most then at least a half hour off. It depends on your needs also but I use the same rule of 15 min per hour for projects, studying, gaming etc.

I sometimes go for a few hours before needing a break here but usually a few mins if I remember.

i see Ike and Vapor still hasn't made peace :p. but gaming addiction is a bad thing i have a friend(well used to have now he is the one who shall not be named) we used to play wow together but he was so addicted to that game that he would not spend time with his boys, he'd start playing as soon as he got home every day and play till about 11pm. 5 days a week weekends he played non stop. Wouldn't help his wife with anything in the house or with the kids.

Then when we started dropping hints that he should spend time with his eldest son( 4 at the time and he still couldn't kick a ball but he could race Forza as good as me) So he went out and bought his 4 year old son a wow subscription so they could spend time together. he's the same age as my eldest son who has been playing rugby since he was 4 when we used to visit them my sons want to play outside and he would just sit in front of the tv and do nothing else and if the mother told him to play outside he threw a insane fit.

So i don't say it's wrong to let your kids play games but there is a limit to what and how much they should play my kids enjoy kinect but they also enjoy sports and playing outside which is what a kid should be doing in my opinion

I agree with you like everything in life moderation is key to your future happiness.

LOL - this is an awesome thread.

Whenever a story like this pops up, you always have masses of self-proclaimed "gamers" announce that they have very strict diets, exercise regularly and don't spend that much time playing the games which they talk about endlessly on the forum. If all these so-called facts were true, we'd have a LOT less people on this forum, or at the very least, have a bunch of threads on the half Iron-Man that was just done in East London, or "What road/mountain bike do you have?" (in fact, some of you probably thought "Iron Man" as in the superhero just now, didn't you?)

What I've experienced, first hand, from the "gamers" as a community, is a bunch of people who spend an enormous amount of time on the games they love. They eat about as much junkfood as the average American during superbowl weekend and have a tendency to smoke and drink as well.

So, where (oh where), are these body-building, fit-for-life athletes that I'm hearing about on here? I sure as heck have never seen any of them at Rage.

(sorry OP, my post is a little off-topic. I just had to comment on the humour of this thread)

Seems like an opportunity to start a gaming fitness club! :D Most of my friends who are "gamers" are quite active and don't spend the whole day glued to their screens. Gamers should still be able to take some time to walk around or exercise for a bit, it'll help with their gaming, improving their reaction times and stamina.

Agreed. I am currently active in the gym 4 days a week.
