Don't buy from evetech - horrible service and unfair business practices.

BEWARE of EVETECH - KNOW WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM FELLOW MYBROADBAND FORUMITES. FOREIGNERS OWN EVETECH

I bought a laptop from Evetech, later I picked up a manufacturing defect on the keyboard, one of the keys was missing a clip and could easily be removed and it had a Windows License Expiring Issue. Anyway I had to go Mustek (Evetech bought the stock from them) to book it in. After some discussion with Mustek, they credited Evetech of which I could get a refund or take another laptop.

Mustek informed me they credited Evetech, it took 2 days to get hold of Imran at Evetech who received the credit to confirm he received it.

I decided to take another laptop of the same kind of which the MD - Imran Sorathia insists that I pay for delivery of R100 on a reissue of a new laptop and he refuses to make a new invoice. Being stuck without a laptop for a week now I hesitatingly paid the R100 which is daylight robbery in my opinion. When I bought it new delivery was free. This was not a swap out as Mustek credited Evetech and I had the option to take my money and go but unfortunately I chose to get another one from Evetech. Imran refuses to invoice the new one with a new warranty start date and makes alot of stories that he's losing money blah blah and carries on like he's providing the warranty and service which he does not, its all Mustek's responsibility.

I picked up the same Windows License is expiring issue on the new one and Microsoft says its a Asus OEM license which Asus must support. Very agitated I call Evetech for advice and I'm put on the phone with one of the worst technicians ever called Sony. He's English is pathetic and he was very condescending and rude. Instead of helping me with a solution again i'm given stories.

Now Ive got a new problem, the screen goes black but you can see the LCD is still on and the PC is still switched on but unresponsive, you have to press the power button and reboot it. Happened three times already.

I'm still waiting for my invoice and Sony has not come back to me with a solution to the problem.
Once they have your money you are at their mercy. They provide no basic support only you are given excuses and the run-around. People might have good experiences but once you have a problem, you are on your own and have to fight for what is due to you. STAY AWAY.

They sold you a refurbished model, the expired windows key points to it immediately (for me at least). Legally you have 6 months to request a; Refund, Replacement or Repair. Being a screen problem you may run into some resistance with Evetech and the supplier. I do wish you luck.

Yep, I can confirm with similar but different experience. Bought a laptop which turned out to be different in real life compared to pictures. I took it back next day and they found a tiny imperfection on outer case, which they said was a scratch and therefore they couldn't refund/replace. I had to drive all the way to supplier, which thankfully had a much better attitude than Evetech and offered refund (or replacement) on the spot. Evetech used to be great a few years back, but I think the company has either grown too large or the ownership has changed or something happened which changed the company for the worse. They still offer great deals and their service is good as long as everything goes well. But if you have a problem/dispute, you're in murky waters indeed.

I will still be buying one of those gaming chairs there. But will never buy any kind of PC part there.

I bough a NZXT S340 Razer edition there. Something went wrong with the switch controlling the lights.
I asked if they could assist as the case was not even a year old, or help me with parts. They simply said it only has a 6 months warranty and shrugged their shoulders.

Emailed NZXT international the next day about the cases issue. They asked for my postal address and the part is on its way, free of charge. So why is Evetech so uninformed about products that they bring in and how these companies operate.

I'm concerned about them not even offering a 6month warranty on the chairs. IF the thing falls apart two months down the line then you are screwed.

If that is the case, I might consider spending more and rather buying a gaming chair from Rebeltech

what the F#$K why are you going to the supplier when its the service you are meant to get from the store. When I worked at the PC shop I went to the supplier to sort out the returns and never sent the client what crap is that.

sigh, this is like the story from the failing shop I worked at many years ago. Sells items when it's not working it's a huge issue and they don't want to sort it out just want you to buy new stuff that's stuffed anyway.

Thanks for the headsup, first heard of Evetech in NAG magazine, thought they were ok, but from this, I'll give them a wide berth and advise ppl from buying from them.

Damn, I wonder how much I've made Raru and Take(2)Alot but singing them praises.
