Three out of five South African youth do not support the legalisation of dagga, consumer insights company Pondering Panda said on Wednesday.

Spokeswoman Wendy Wakefield said a survey revealed that out of 5024 participants aged between 13 and 34, only 38 percent supported legalising the drug.

"However, men were more likely than women to feel that the use of dagga should be legalised," she said.

If authority figures keep telling you from a very young age that something is bad for you, it's quite likely you'll keep believing it, unless you manage to become a bit more sceptical and start investigating things for yourself. Unfortunately most people are rather gullible.

I have no interest in whether it gets legalised or not, but I think they should do it anyway, just so people would shut up about it.
 
Legalise it, large sin tax on its consumption and tax incentives to get production started.
Results should be increased jobs and tax revenue and its not like keeping it illegal will restrict its trade so you might as well get something out of it.

Just keep records like in Amsterdam and Cali on its use for future reference and don't need to stop warning people on the issues.
 
This shouldn't happen.... And btw those taxes are going to land in corrupt politicians's laps ;) they steal enough already no need for them to Steal more
