Dunno if anyone else has had this problem ... but if anybody has a solution.

I'm having trouble getting DOOM 3 running on my system - I recently moved to Windows 7 (Ultimate 32 Bit) - and I was wondering if anyone else had any trouble getting it to run.

I should probably provide more details, but I uninstalled it before posting here - I'll reinstall and reproduce the problem and post it later.

If its what i think it is, Right click the game icon, Properties, Compatibility, select windows xp and it should run fine.

I'll you'l find that a lot of older games won't work so well in Win7. Altho I managed to play all the Splinter Cell games without too many problems. Make sure you install the latest Doom3 patches. Or if that fail, try running the game in XP compatibility mode.

I might have tried it already, can't remember - but I'll give it another shot tonight and let you guys know what happens. Thanks for the replies ;)

Ive had some issues where the game icons in game are missing ect, and switching to xp compatibility always sorts the problem. Good luck:)

I remember having a little trouble running it in Vista, but eventually got it to work. Not sure about Win7, but you should follow Jokers advice and also make sure it's patched up to past 1.3.

If you having trouble after installing normally while using compatibility wizard, try runing the install exe in compat that usually also works.

I should've posted about this sooner =_="

Thanks guys.

[EDIT]

It's aliiiiiivvvveeee!!! Thanks for the advice everyone.

Now ... to download the sticky-tape mod. :D

What fixed the problem? I'm thinking of giving Doom3 a try again on my PC and don't want to have my own problems.

*lol* I basically did everything they mentioned.

I ran the setup in Compatibility Mode (XP SP2) and as Administrator, installed the patch (1.3.1 seems to be the latest) also as Administrator, and then ran the game. Seems to be in Compatibility Mode by default if you install it that way.
