Dota 2

I've recently started playing again. Can only play with Bristleback and Gyrocopter at the moment.

Quite an adjustment. My screen shakes and my health drops and I've got no idea who or what is damaging me:confused:

Would like to play a game with you guys tonight if possible.

Screen shake is on by default. you can turn it off in the options menu. The screen shakes when you get stunned and can get especially annoying when playing against clockwerk

The problem is not actually the screenshake itself...more the damage that's being dealt and no idea where it's coming from.

It will get better after playing more and understand each hero's abilities ;)

And I'm not turning screen shake off yet...good indication for a noob that sheert is happening:

1. Check health
2. Check amount of enemies and allies in vicinity
3. Run Forest...Run:p

Haha that's a good way to look at it. And yes you're right it will get better with experience.
Just a tip for learning the look of spells and where they're coming from, If there's a Rubick in the game don't make too much assumptions. He can steal spells from the enemy and use it against them. This might be confusing if you're trying to learn
 
Been playing Hon for the past 2 years so I've got the basics down...just the freaking spells in teamfights...add shoe polish and I swear it's Guy Fawks:p

On an unrelated note Telkom just phoned and informed me they're working on my exchange and it should be upgraded by the end of the month! YAY I will be able to play again!!:D

Was thinking of playing competitively but my internet is not meant to be on the internet :(

No foreseeable upgrades too...Telkom rather recommends me to go with 8ta :confused:

You should speak to Saint Dee and Insanity they also play Dota 2 with 8Ta and they do have connection issues every now and then

Hang in there man. My exchange has been congested since 19 November and I've been at war with Telkom ever since. This is the first time I got any kind of ETA. I hope they get around to you too bud

Problem is I'm not on 8ta. Adsl...best service effort:what:spit!

8ta is not that bad. On a good day I'll have a ping of 220 (TI) and and my cousin (on 8ta) will have +-300 but his game is mucg smoother :what:
 
Can't seem to quote on tapatalk anymore :o any duvet...problem isn't congestion. The telkom box I'm connected to is 8km from the exchange.

There is a MSAN 200 metres from my place but Telkom is not willing to move my line there :mad:

Anyhoo...I'm so use to lag spikes and rubberbanding that I'm immortal at lans :p

This might be a silly question but, in the game, have you tried switching network quality to low? This helps a lot with rubberbanding. It's in the options menu under the side tab "network"

Not entirely sure but when I first started playing everything was rubberbanding like crazy on EU servers so I messed with the settings a little and found that the network quality setting helped a lot when you have a highish ping. I think what it does is allow for more lag compensation in terms of the actual position of the models

Also there must be some negative side effect to setting it to low? Else surely everyone would set it to low even when you have a good connection?

I guess accuracy is the trade off. On low you're seeing slightly less accurate information? Might be.
