That is the obvious thing to do yes, however I truly prefer to speak with more intellectual people (hoping on this forum) that may also be Standard Bank customers to get their understanding of the product.
Call centre agents more of then than not have no idea how their own product functions.
I will query it with the bank when I receive the general consensus I was hoping for which results in an agreement with me that a double charge does not make sense.

Besides, a double charge doesn't for anything seem right. Also remember to query if they charged for the debit order as well and get that refunded as well!
