Dragon Age: Inquisition review roundup

I loved DA:O but I couldn't play DAII because it was such a terrible port. Will Inquisition make sense if I skipped DAII like I suspect many people have?

Yes I want it ,it was a battle between this and Asscreed Unity but there are reports of bad performance in unity so I will prob pick up that next year.

C'moooon collector's edition

Terrible port?

It was watered down and had a few peculiar quirks but it was by no means a terrible game.

I had no issues with Dragon Age II -- having said that, I haven't played and finished it either. The few hours I played of the game I enjoyed (couldn't have been more than 10 hours, though).

Edit: Need for Speed: Undercover; now that game ughh... Driving mechanic sucked (metal) balls! Uninstalled that s**t almost the same time I installed it.

As bad as The Run can sometimes present itself, I actually still enjoy it (albeit at the locked 30FPS).

You know, the ctrl c + ctrl v nature of pretty much everything really ruined it for me. It was poor, and I think everyone, including BioWare, knew it.

Excited for DA:I though, can't wait to play!

For shame. FOR SHAME.

Oh, I didn't mind the copy-pasta thing much. Of course it's not what you expect with a big name like BioWare behind it but it's something I could live with.

My biggest criticism is largely levelled at how everything just seemed so "all over the place" story-wise.

But, in saying that, I did enjoy the story, I liked the characters, the ending was unexpected and I really had a, "No fucking way! YOU DUMBASS!" moment which I loved.

It's still an 8/10 game for me. BioWare would have to really screw up for me to ever distrust their ability to release great games. (*cough* Mass Effect 3 ending *cough*)

My biggest issue in the past has largely been courtesy of EA and their "pre-purchase" incentives along with the downright idiocy in giving certain territories watered down "collector's editions" or excluding them completely (here's looking at you, ZA).

Yeah, DA2 on its own wasn't such a bad game. As a sequel to DA:O it completely blows, though. There's just so much wrong with it compared to DA:O.

I finished it, liked it, but could never go back to it.

We should take a tally of:

"What are you MOST looking forward to between these two (2) titles:"
Dragon Age: Inquisition or Far Cry 4.

It appears to be a half-and-half currently, on the forum.

Before I saw gameplay of DA: I, I saw of FC4 - and was instantly sold. Some months later I saw Inquisition and was even more enthralled, oddly enough. Don't get me wrong, FC4 is still the tits, but DA: I... Something about it attracts me a lot more. Maybe it's because I love a game with an in-depth story and gameplay that fills my cup.

I agree with you.

All the same, am very excited to play Inquisition. It's a lot of "new" from BioWare and a lot of "old" that gets me all tingly :D

I've also been doing my absolute best to avoid all news, reviews, screenshots and information about it. I just want to sink my teeth into it and drool all over it.

Careful - I hear teeth and saliva does funny things to games... :D

Was planning on getting this later, but after the good reviews I've decided to leave Unity for now and get this instead.

so tell me, if i have not played the previous DA games, will i be lost (with regards to characters and plot) ?

I don't know the extent of character-based stories that'll carry over into DA: I, but I suspect a recap will be in place. Having not finished either of the previous titles, you and I might be in the same boat; though, I have at least 80% DA: O plot completion, so I won't be too much out of the loop.

Edit: We can either Google it, or wait until the game comes out. If any you ARE at any point confused, use Google again, for a recap.

Apparently there are points where you wont realise the gravity of certain events, but they do enough so that you wont be completely lost. Make sure to read the codex entries they will help explain a lot of the concepts.

I honestly think AC:U is going to get mixed reviews from people, I have heard a lot from people that got it early in the EU/US and they say it's like AC 2, with bigger crowds and more accessible buildings.

DA:O Looks awesome but I am going to have to hold it off until a later date, GTA V is going to keep me too busy, maybe a xmas gift to myself.

Yeah, I just saw that a lot of people are complaining about Unity's framerate so I'm glad I decided to wait a bit for it. This will be the first AC game since AC2 that I don't get on release date, but I think waiting for a patch will be the smartest thing to do at this point.

I really want to get GTA V on PS4 as well, mostly for the first-person mode, but since I've already finished it I will get DA first as it will be a completely new experience.

Yip after seeing those asscreed reviews I think alot of people are gonna get Dragon Age Inquisition instead,Hopefully by next year Ubisoft would have fixed there game.
