Did you forget to separate your recycling again? Be warned, BioWare reveals Velanna, the vengeful, eco-powerful, elvish ally in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakenings Here's some backstory to prime you to check out the trailer below:

"Humans took the Dalish elves’ lands, burned their cities to the ground, and forced their people to live as slaves. The Dalish have forgotten their language, culture, and history--all because of the humans. Now, they roam the land in ragged bands, holding onto the fragments of their past. Is it any wonder that hatred for humans runs deep in Velanna’s heart? Raised as a first to her clan’s keeper, Velanna knows how much has been lost, and her pride demands that her people lose no more. She is nature’s hand, an instrument of vengeance, and she will never submit. Creators help those who get in her way."

1. Story and Gameplay
1.1 – Are there new specializations in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)

There are a total of 6 new specializations in Awakening - two for each class.
1.2 – Are there any new spells in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)

Yes, indeed. There are two new high level spell chains available to all mages and a choice of two new specializations for a total of 24 new spells.
1.3 – Will there be new Talents in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)

There are a total of 32 new rogue and warrior talents in Awakening (including their specialization abilities). For those keeping track, that is 56 total new spells and abilities in Awakening.
1.4 – Will there be new Origin Stories in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)

There are no new origin stories in Awakening. If you create a new character, there is a new background as the "Orlesian Grey Warden". But you do not play a custom origin story; instead the game reacts at various points to your background, sometimes in dramatic ways.
1.5 – Who are the new party NPCs for Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)

We have already revealed both Anders and Velanna as new party NPCs for Awakening. Anders is an apostate mage as well as being a bit of a troublemaker. Velanna is a Dalish mage with a hatred for humans and a burning fury to defend nature and her people against man. We will be revealing more new NPCs before the launch of Awakening.
1.6 – Does the party influence system return in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)

The party influence system is again present in Awakening.
1.7 – If I had a romance in Origins, does it carry over into Awakening? (Back to top)

Romances do not carry forward in Awakening, because you are away from your previous life fighting a new threat.
1.8 – Who can I romance in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)

There are no romances options available in Awakening. The story is focused more on the mission at hand and the new threat to Ferelden.
1.9 – Which Dragon Age: Origins NPC will be returning? (Back to top)

Besides Oghren who plays a large role in Awakening, there are cameos and returning characters. For companions you'll potentially meet Loghain, Wynne, and Alistair depending on your decisions in Origins. In regards to NPCs, Master Wade and Herren reprise their roles, with Wade offering to make even more fantastical goods if the player brings his list of ingredients. Loghain's daughter, Anora, may also appear in Awakening depending on your choices in Origins. From David Gaider's novel "The Calling" - both the Architect and Utha are present in Awakening.
2. Technical
2.1 – What are the system specs for Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? Are they different from Origins? (Back to top)

The system specs are the same as Dragon Age: Origins.
2.2 – How do I import my Dragon Age: Origins character into Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)

It's the same process to import characters for each platform. Players will go to New Game, select Awakening, and then click on "Import Character". Then players select from a list of available characters. Players can also choose an advanced option to choose a specific save game instead of the most recent save game for that character if they desire.
2.3 – If my PC died at the end of Dragon Age: Origins how are they alive in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)

If a player wants to, they can import their "Dead Warden" into Awakening and play as them. For the story it's assumed that they didn't make the ultimate sacrifice, instead somehow survived. A player would start as the same level with the same gear as their "Dead Warden". Essentially, if a player doesn't have a problem hand-waiving the story in this regard - neither do we.
2.4 – If I import my character, can I respecc him/her before I play Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)

No, you can only respec a character by purchasing the "Manual of Focus" from Herren in the Vigil's Keep courtyard. Herren has an unlimited supply and for a price of 6 gold each, you can use these manuals to respec your character or any of your companions.
2.5 – Will my items, armor, stats, etc transfer over if I import my character from Dragon Age: Origins? (Back to top)

Almost all items are imported with your character. The only exceptions are the Origins promotional items and DLC loot, which were meant for Origins alone.
2.6 – If I have used fan modifications or custom content, will my character still work in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)

If you've user mods or custom content, there is a chance that it will not work with Awakening. We expect it will work similarly to Neverwinter Nights where some mods are unaffected by the expansion, and others are. We advise players to use un-modded characters to import.
2.7 – Have fixes (like balance, bugs, etc) from Dragon Age: Origins been included in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)

Awakening will come with the latest executable patch / title update for Dragon Age: Origins.
2.8 – Will Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening be available through Digital Download? Will it be on Steam again? (Back to top)

Yes, Awakening will be available on Steam and via other digital download services. It is also available for download for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. In Europe and other PAL video/game region countries, the PS3 version is only available as a download.

World update Amaranthine:http://dragonage.bioware.com/awakening/world/environment/amaranthine/

The arling of Amaranthine winds along the sinuous northeastern coast of Ferelden. The Waking Sea is known for its temper, and the storms that sweep in from the warmer northern waters are sudden and brutal. Rising above these turbulent waters is the city of Amaranthine--once a modest fishing village, now an important and prosperous port city and a center for trade in northern Ferelden. Hardship and adversity, like the storm-tossed waves of the Waking Sea, have assailed Amaranthine time and time again, only to crash and break upon her walls. The people of Amaranthine survived first the Orlesian occupation, then the sacking of the city when the Orlesians departed. They know one thing for certain: the city will always stand as a testament to the strength and steadfastness of the Fereldan people.

I just want an excuse to run around with my awesome looking Dragon Plate Heavy Armor and this expansion is just the excuse I need. Looking forward to this expansion. :D

For those who don't know Oghren is the returning character.

Oghren of Orzammar is known throughout Ferelden for fighting alongside the Grey Warden who halted the fifth Blight. Some say Oghren was the hero's constant companion; others suggest he merely rode on the Warden's coattails. But the stories all agree on two important points: that Oghren is a beast on the battlefield, and that he can easily imbibe liquids that would fell lesser men. After the archdemon was defeated, Oghren settled down with his old flame Felsi and had a child. Those who know him say that he was truly happy, at least for a time. But Oghren is a warrior born and bred, and, as he is fond of saying, you can take a warrior out of the fight, but you can never take the fight out of the warrior.

Dragon bone wastes:http://dragonage.bioware.com/awakening/world/environment/dragonbone_wastes/

Far to the south of Thedas, nestled between high, forboding mountains, is a place where they say dragons go to die. There, in that harsh and wild land, a dragon at the end of her days would lie down and allow the bitter cold to take her. The Tevinter Imperium believed the tales, and imagined that the bones of these great and ancient beasts must be suffused with power--power they could take for themselves. And thus they sought out the place that their legends spoke of. When they found it, and saw the bones piled upon ancient bones, they named it Drake's Fall.

New enemy: The disciples:

The Blight has been defeated, or so everyone has heard. And yet the darkspawn still range across the north of Ferelden. By all accounts, these darkspawn are organized despite the death of the archdemon, following the lead of unknown commanders. No civilized person can say where these darkspawn commanders come from, but they think, speak, and act with purpose, which makes them dangerous indeed.
